I tested this morning at 9po and got a BFN. I know it's still early, but I was really hoping that I'd continue the early testing BFP trend!

Jenny, I'm sorry- I feel like the early testing thing is my fault. Cananny might chime in on this herself, but I'll remind you that she had a BFN at 12 dpo, and was still pregnant with triplets. Everyone's bodies are totally different, and there's no reason to lose hope now. Keepin' the faith for you here...

tigers: It's not your fault! I'm a test-a-holic.  It's a miracle that I waited this long! Normally I test so I can watch the trigger leave...

Cananny:  You and tigers make a good point. :-)  I'm still feeling optimistic, but I did hope I'd see something today.

a question for those reporting that they did have menstrual-like cramps even though they were pregnant - any of you have a little spotting, too? AF is due to arrive tomorrow, i'm all out of tests and refusing to buy more until my online order of the cheap ones arrives later this week. this morning i woke up with some light cramps and just a little spotting. feeling a little down about my chance this month...

sphinxy: Crossing my fingers for you!

e2w: Thanks!  I am STARVING.  The last two days, I'm eating anything that isn't nailed down.  I get like this before my period, but it's usually closer to AF.  I really don't have any symptoms otherwise.  Still peeing, but I think even that is improving somewhat.  Who knows! I refuse to try to guess anymore.  :-)

sphyinxy - I have also had cramping for a while.  I did not have any spotting, but I have heard it is normal to have spotting and a BFP.  I normally have spotting before AF begins anyway, so that was not a sign for me.  I hope you get some good news in a day or two.  You never know.

Jenny - Definitely hang in there.  Like outdoorsy said, I didn't have any real symptoms before my BFP.  It is still early.  Fingers crossed for you!

invitn - I love your kitty picture.  I'm so sorry you are having more setbacks, but glad that you are finding things that you can fix.  I know your baby is out there somewhere waiting for the right time to join you and your wife.  It is really difficult to keep trying month after month when you keep getting the same results.  I was feeling pretty crappy a few months ago when 6 people graduated and I got another BFN.  Everyone here made me feel truly supported.  I've been part of a thread about having a saner TTC experience, and someone said something there that really stuck with me.  She said she was afraid she had too much hope and not enough faith.  I had to think about that for a while.  Each time I had hope that it would work, but I didn't always have faith that it would work.  Even when my wife kept telling me she had no doubt it would happen someday, I couldn't always believe.  So I wish you faith and continued strength.

outdoorsy - Oh My God!!!!!!!!  What wonderful news to get first thing in the morning.  I am so happy for you!  Sending sticky vibes your way. goodvibes.gif  I didn't have any big symptoms either so it just goes to show, you never know.

Hello everyone! I am brand new here and think I am in the right place. It looks like congratulations are in order for many of you and sincere wishes of luck to everyone else!

Does anyone have any getting started resources as far as navigating insurance? I live in Illinois where infertility is covered after a year of trying and I am wondering, since we're interested in starting in the next year if I should start building some kind of "proof" of trying (even if we're not because we're two women!) like even asking my doctor about stuff? I am worried about a red flag if I talk to my insurance, but I really want to get more information. I really want to figure out if I should just "say" I've been having unprotected sex with a man for the last year, if I should be honest, if I should be honest with my health care provider and ask their advice? But I'm really worried about something coming up in my chart somewhere that would raise a flag later.

I know there is a lot of information on here, but it's really difficult to weed through. I'm aware of the different options medically to trying to get pregnant, but I really want to figure out some of the other stuff.

Welcome.gif hallerm!  I hope your stay is short and sweet!  I think there are some folks from Illinois on here somewhere.  You may want to start your own thread about it to catch their attention.  I would hope there is an exemption for us queers.  I did not have to prove anything.  I just got a referral from my regular doctor, but California does not have any mandated coverage.

firstly, i haven't been here long but i'd just like to say how inspirational it is to see so many people who've been at this for a while keeping the faith, getting their bfps, and cheering others on.

i'm nervous about getting too excited, but after posting my question about some mild spotting this morning, it just stopped. there was just two little bits over the course of 2-3 hours. i've had some moderate cramping on and off all day, with no more bleeding. that is not normal for my cycle. usually as soon as i start cramping i'm pretty heavy right away. i would have been more freaked out by that if hadn't seen all this positive feedback about outdoorsy's cramps being a sign of pregnancy. so... i'm trying not to get my hopes up, but i may be sleeping with my fingers crossed tonight that af stays away tomorrow.

fmorris - we're all waiting for the results of that test when you're ready!

Jenny - Sorry about the BFN, but there's still time -- still some hope this cycle! I hope you get your BFP!

THANK YOU SO, SO MUCH to everyone for the congratulations on my BFP. Sphinxy, I love the "round of applause," and I also really appreciate the people who thread-crashed from QP&P --- I hope to join you soon! Tandy, I'm glad we're due date buddies! And SunandEr, I live *very* close to you. Are you members of the South Shore LGBT parents' group that started on Meetup.com and recently moved to Facebook?

babyf.gif... due in late June.

Sphinxy: So sorry this wasn't your month.  :-(  I hope your stay here will be short.  hug2.gif

Morris:  I'm so impressed with your restraint!  Will you test soon?

afm:  Still early here at 10dpo.  BFN this morning, though.  Today, I've had some pressure/crampyish feeling like AF may come early.  I don't normally get cramps or pressure when I'm not on medication. However, I have had this feeling every medicated cycle so far.  I'm not totally ruling myself out, but I had similar feelings beginning 11dpo last month and I think I am headed in the same direction this month.  Money is tight, so if this cycle isn't successful, I'm going to be on a break until my FSA account renews in the new year.  With that, I will also be figuring out my next source of sperm and what not.  I have a possible known donor in mind, but am also still considering frozen.
