What is DP and DW and BFP? I try to guess, but I'm not sure. I think there are other acronyms being used on here, but those are the ones I can remember right now.

You can find a lot of lists of fertility-related acronyms by doing a web search... Here's a pretty good one:
http://crazylesbianmom.blogspot.ca/p/fertility-acronyms-for-dummies.html

DP = Dear Partner
DW = Dear Wife
BFP = Big Fat Positive (pregnancy test!)

Thanks! That's funny, y'all should have a key somewhere. :)

We do!  It's right here.  You can also find it under Queer Parenting Resources at the main page for this forum.

Wow, Pokey, thanks for pointing that out! I'd never seen it before.

Funny thing, kinda related: I was reading through some other MDC forums outside our little Queer Parenting enclave, and came across an entire thread for and by FTMs... Only the participants were using the acronym to mean First Time Moms! At first glance, I'd been so stoked cuz I thought it was a big group of pregnant/parenting Female-To-Male trans-folk who'd somehow completely missed the QP section... Alas, 'twas not to be. Acronyms can lead to a lot of confusion, hey? eyesroll.gif

I've done the same thing, Granite!  I was on another site altogether and I was surprised there were FTM folks posting there.  Then I realized that was not what they meant. duh.gif   I guess they are not familiar with the other definition.

I find myself having to refer to that key A LOT. Haha. Forgive me if I don't use all the abbreviations myself.

Wow, I can't see resources from my phone, I guess.

But I was confused about FTM for a long time. I didn't see it on the acronym list, either.
