pokeyac, will you move me to Waiting to Know? Timing of my insem was bad because of weekend shipping limitations, so likely I'll be back in Waiting to O within a week or so. My temp was a bit wonky because of travel, so FF couldn't pinpoint my O day with certainty, and last month, the Femara lengthened my LP to 16 days (from its usual average of 12), so I'm not 100% certain when my period is going to come around. It's like the good old days before temping, when it was all a grand (unpleasant) surprise....

36, hoping to have a new member of the family in 2015, to join my queer clan: Me , Things 1&2 , my long-distance KD/cheerleader (the guy who's been telling everyone what a great mom I'm going to be) , and the rest of the superheroes and sidekicks .

Hello! I wanted to come on here and introduce myself. I've been reading this forum for quite some time but since I'm close to ttc for the first time, I thought I'd take a more active role!

A little about us: I've been with my wife for 7 years but we just got married this February. I'm 27 and DW is 32 and we live in upstate NY. We've wanted to have kids for a very long time but had to wait for our lives to get settled first. We actually were planning on trying in June but then I got laid off (I'm a teacher) and found out that I have hypothyroidism so I have been working on getting a new job and balancing out my thyroid issue.

Our plan is to do our first IUI in August and we couldn't be more excited!

Hi, can I join in? I am a single mother to 3 children, 2 biological that live with me full time and a non-bio boy from my ex who is with me when it's my turn to have our kids. I am turning 29 in August and have realized that it's absolutely time to add to my family. My period came on July 9th and it felt like it was wrong to happen. I shouldn't be bleeding right now, I should be gestating. I also feel as if the spirit of my next baby is ready to come earthside. Just like I knew with my youngest son. Excited to become active on mothering again, though it's changed so much since my children were babies!

Thanks for the warm welcome pokeyac, I hope it is short and sweet too!

Welcome AugustLia! When do you think you'll start trying?

I got some awesome new on Saturday - my thyroid is stabilized and I am clear to start trying! I talked to my wife and we decided that even if I don't get a job we will still try in August. We will be buying the sperm August 1st

Hi all! Thanks for the welcome!

I'm planning to try as soon as this upcoming ovulation. That should be on the 28th according to my period app. I just talked with my donor yesterday and got all big details squared away. He's ready and so am I. Yay!

rs11: That is great news! How awesome.

August: Good luck! Fingers crossed. I hope this is your month.

AFM: I hurt fairly bad from the lap, but it went as well as could be expected. My left fallopian tube is congenitally deformed, but my right is normal, so I can get pregnant off that tube. They also removed a small uterine polyp that is almost certainly benign but could interfere with implantation. The doc said we need to wait a month or so and then we'll be good to go.

I just posted my book to the "New to the group" thread, so i won't bore you repeating it all

I am 38 yo and single. I have had 7 IUIs, the second one being a chemical pregnancy (was sad, but felt like it was still a good sign). I have since taken a break and got my hormone results:
Progesterone, day 21: 15.1
Estradiol, day 3: 53.9
Fsh, day 3: 5.1
LH, day 3: 6.1
TSH: 1.49

I am doing unmedicated frozen donor sperm, at home IUIs, with my midwives. They and my new gyn agree I shouldn't use medications since my hormones look good and I am ovulating, I am just reminded it takes time. I have become more relaxed than I was when I first started out.

My next IUI will be this next week, sometime between Tues and Thurs, excited!

rs11 -- Glad to hear your lap went well! I have been ttc and have done 7 iui's with one chemical pregnancy. My hormones are good, but I have been chicken about looking at laparoscopy.

Could you tell me what your indications were that made you consider that? I don't feel (physically) like anything is going on in there, was yours simply diagnostic?

angeebaby: Welcome to the group! I hope this is your month. We've done several IUIs and have only had one chemical pregnancy even though I have a very good prognosis, so the doc was concerned something was up and sent me for an hsg (that's a dye spill test). We didn't want to waste any more money, so we agreed. Donor sperm is expensive! It showed the left tube was blocked, so we did the lap to find out why and if it could be opened. The hsg wasn't bad, though the blocked tube spasmed for a few hours after the test. My co-pay was only $75 for the test and I got the results right there.

If you don't get pregnant soon, you might consider the hsg. Even if your tubes are normal, they can have mucus plugs and so forth that can hinder conception/implantation.

Rs11- thanks for your reply! I feel really good (calm, not stressed) and was very happy w the hormone results, so hoping this month will be it too! However, if it doesn't work, I think more investigation is definitely warranted. I think I will schedule the appointment now (takes weeks to get in) so I can be ready for the next cycle. I can always cancel if I get a BFP!

The only reason i decided to go forward right now, out of those 7 tries, one did work, one I did way too late (ovulation came early before shipment arrived), and two I was ill with an asthma flare up and on all sorts of steroids (was being stubborn and swore my super baby could overcome the obstacles)! So I figure out of those 7, I had 4 good cycles and one worked, putting me at 25% success. Or it could be me justifying that everything is just fine with super math skills hah.

Thinking positive but making my game plan for the following cycle!

RS- your lap sounds really aweful, but good that you now know what's happening in there. Are you now going to screen which side the follicle(s) are developing and only insemming when it's the right side, or what is your strategy now?

Angee- welcome and good luck with TTC. I noticed your hormone check didn't include AMH. Did you ever get this one?
For me it was the explaining factor of why I wasn't getting pregnant with 9 insems (1 early loss). I also never felt like anything was wrong with my body either, so it was rather eye-opening and painful when we got the seriously bad AMH result. But it had us move on to IVF, which worked like a charm on the first try.

To everybody else on here - fingers crossed for a BFP. It is getting awfully quiet both here and in the preggo thread. We could use more success stories

Friederike - thanks for your reply. I didn't do AMH, the midwife was just concerned with my progesterone levels, I added the request for the other hormones and thyroid. Forgot to add this one! I was trying to google whether you can have low fsh and amh still be low, or whether fsh would increase if amh were lowering, or if they run independent of each other. Just trying to draw a conclusion based on what I do know.

For my next appointment, if I need it, I will add amh, hsg and a lap. Kinda discussed the lap at the start since I had such bad painful, horrible, bed ridden periods prior to 19 years of birth control, was wondering if those were due to possible endo. Dr doesn't think so since I have no pain now, but I have read that can happen independent of pain. We shall see!

Testing for ovulation starting today. I shouldn't get a positive until Monday though. Trying to keep positive thoughts flowing, of course all my other worries keep flooding my mind as soon as I was in positive thought mode! Hah! Will keep cleaning so I stay busy.

augustlia - I will be ovulating (I hope) on the 28 or 29th too! You'd think I wouldn't be ,excited again after this many tries, but I feel so good, hoping this one will do it!

I will be rooting for us both!

Hi everyone,

I've been travelling around during the TWW for our first try (for baby #3 ) and haven't had internet to check in here.

We had our IUI on early this month. I had some good feelings of implantation cramping. We had light BFPs on DPO 10 that got darker. Because we were camping I couldn't go in to do betas with our clinic. I just got our second beta results back and things are looking great so far.

DPO 18 - 451
DPO 20 - 1414

We have an ultrasound scheduled in two weeks. I'm more nervous and cautious this time around than in the past. I've had a lot more crampy, heavy feelings that have worried me - but today I got these results back and am trying to put my fears aside and celebrate for a while

August and angee- good luck this week!

omom- congrats on the awesome beta!!!

afm- the busyness of life is starting to slow down, which is nice. My FET is sometime next week (don't know exact date, though I think it will be August 4th). I'm super nervous because we're running out of embryos. We started off with 7 excellent quality five day blastocysts, transferred 2 fresh into DW (miscarried), transferred another 2 frozen in DW (miscarried), so now we have 3 left and we will transfer 2 frozen into me this time. This will be my first time with the FET, but I feel like we've been trying for far too long now (almost 1.5 years with no success).

Anyway, pokey- can I please be moved to working on IVF? Thanks so much!

Well, I am officially in the 2 week wait! Just did my IUI. I don't feel like there is anything different I could have done between timing or health or anything else to make this a good cycle. Crossing my fingers!

One of my midwives let me know she is newly pregnant, and went to visit a friend and her 4 week old baby girl. Hopefully the new baby pheromones help out!

Today I am 8dpiui, thought my abs were bothersome this morning, but other than that, I'm thinking this one is a no go.

Picking a new donor now for this next cycle. Bummed cuz I thought I had picked the perfect donor!

Period is due between Monday and Wednesday (Wed most likely).

I'm here, if quiet (and would head over to an August thread), and in yet another TWW which I'm pretty sure will end (early next week) in the start of AF. Feeling like being pregnant is something my body doesn't know how to do, which makes me feel a bit defeated....

36, hoping to have a new member of the family in 2015, to join my queer clan: Me , Things 1&2 , my long-distance KD/cheerleader (the guy who's been telling everyone what a great mom I'm going to be) , and the rest of the superheroes and sidekicks .
