I'm really sorry that I had to miss brunch today! I had "morning sickness" like crazy all day. It was like a flashback to week 8... Anyhow, I hope everyone had fun!

Hey there!

Yes, we'd be up for it, as long as you don't mind how ginormous I am (I bet you won't!) We're busy on Saturdays with dog-training and yoga, but Sundays work well. Maybe the 10th?

Hope everybody's feeling good. Karen and Aurora--hope you are settling in with Reyes!

We are settling in-learning tricks to get this little man to sleep! He fights sleep alot and gets really fussy!

We will likely go on the 10th with the disclaimer that it depends on his Royal Fussiness. If he is in an OK mood we will be there-however we don't want to be the people with THAT baby who goes to a restaurant and has the baby crying and screaming.

Just a disclaimer-we just spent 2 hours getting this guy to sleep! So I am a little frazzled!

Karen, mother to a wonderful active three year old.

The 10th sounds great- It's actually the day after my birthday. Same bat time(11), same bat location(buzz)?
Those crepes are soooo totally calling my name

JT-Your ginourmousness just lets me know what I have to look forward too

I really hope his Royal fussiness is feeling good that day

Any other Chicago queer mamas/papas who would like to join are welcome to pm me.

I think that will work for us, assuming I haven't gone into labor (which I don't think is likely) and that at least one of my shirts still fits.

I can't wait to meet Reyes!! I hope he's in a good mood!

Mothers of 1-year old twins looking for local families (in Berwyn, Oak Park, Forest Park, etc.) interested in forming an informal playgroup. We need to get out more. Anyone else?

My partner and I are planning on starting to try to get knocked up this fall and we don't have any local friends with kids at all. (I have one of my best friends and she's in Kansas city, but that's it!). We'd love to meet some other people, especially other queer parents that have been through this already, or are at a similar place. If you decide to put together another meetup, we'd love to come especially Sunday nights - those are good for us

Hi there! We usually try to have monthly brunches which have all been on Sundays-most of us have tiny babes (or in my case an older Dd, and one arriving very soon)-Our hope is to have another brunch in the beginning of August either first of second sunday was my vote-pending I'm out of bed by then!

Anyone else have suggestions for the next get together? I'd be OK with an early evening type thing, but Dd starts to melt down about 8:30ish which is her bedtime, so Sunday Nights don't work well for us. We would also need a different venue, since our usual closes at 2pm Sunday....

I would love to try to make it, and sunday mornings should work in August because my wife finally gets one weekend day off that month - and it's sunday

We'd be sans baby, unlike everyone else, but I'd love to come anyway so we can start to expand our circle of friends to those with kids.

Thanks

Hey everyone!

August sounds great for us. I think Sarah might have morning classes on Sundays so I'll get back to you on that. We miss everyone and have been super lousy about emailing, calling, etc. As it turns out, having a baby is lots of work. Who knew?

Marie--keep us posted about the baby!

Hi mamas....

Announcing the birth of our new baby Girl (with a few minor details):

Our babe was born on the 15th.
It was a lovely, peaceful Homebirth labor (pool of heated water in my downstairs family room) that just got a little complicated in the end. I pushed for about 8
hours-many of them crowning, and babe was born very mad at the heroic midwife who helped her out of a shoulder dystocia while bouncing five feet in the air in the back of an
Ambulance. Babe had some jaundice, and we are
working hard on fixing some of the nursing issues from the hospital. I have a PP visit from the midwife today where
we are going to work on it.
Anyway, Here are the stats:

Jocheved (Julia) Hadassah Bat Sara V' Miriam
July 15,2008 Tuesday 12:56 p.m.
8 lbs, 14.5oz 21 inches long
At approximately the intersection of Austin Ave. &
Lake Ave in Oak Park IL.

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!! July babies are the best (my birthday is tomorrow!!)

And what a story. You must be a proud mama after pushing out almost a 9 pounder.

Please let us know when you are ready for visitors and what kind of food you'd like us to bring. And we did pretty much all of the nursing problems and jaundice, so don't hesitate to call day or night if you need any support.

It's totally ok-we'd love to have visitors, now that I feel slightly more human. I left a message for you yesterday. I ended up back in the hospital from tuesday morning until late wednesday night due to an error by the ER docs that led to a second PPH and some retained placenta. I felt like something was wrong basically from the first time I came home-and it was.

Jen-I looke everywhere and can't find your phone number. I'm Pm-ing you my number!
