The videos on You Tube seem to show all tiny newborns in a cradle hold. I can't figure out how to get DD in the sling to nurse. She's 24 1/2 inches long, about 15 lbs, so her legs have to hang out! Anyone have any links to good videos, or maybe some instructions for a sling newbie like me? I have an unpadded Maya, and the "pouch" seems huge, since the fabric is wide... help!

I always did a football hold in the sling with feet out. Just remember to pull fabric under bum for support, then I would loosen the top rail a bit.

Doing what I can to make better choices every day!

I wore ds in the cradle hold pretty much exclusively until he was about 20lbs. I never found I needed to put his feet out. I am a bigger mama though so maybe that was why.

Surviving sleep deprivation one day at a time with dd (Oct '11) & ds (Oct '08).
