I have a Pikkolo and like it a lot. Okay, well, for the first few/early months I LOVED it because DD really wanted her legs out. She's a big girl, so I think I would love it more now if I had the waist support belt.
She can see out easier in the Pikkolo than in our Ergo Sport.
The crossed straps in the back made me develop some babywearing muscles, i.e. it hurt a first until I started standing up straight and got the muscles needed to wear a baby with good posture. (That said, I have a back low back, so this might not be an issue for normal people.)
Mine is the "cloud" pattern and it's much prettier than my Ergo Sport. DH will wear it, though, because it's not too flowery.
The fabric seems really well stitched, well made. It's basically a mei tai with buckles. OH...buckles! The two-way adjust is really nice. I had to read the directions like 10 times to get what they were saying (new mama brain in effect) but it's very cool that tugging one way lifts the baby UP higher on your chest, while tightening the other way brings the baby closer to your body. I wish my Ergo did this.
I bought mine from Quirky Baby, and will probably go back for the waist support belt, so I can get more use out of my Pikkolo.
sorry if this sounds all over the place...she's actually napping by herself so I am giddy with new found freedom.
I LOVE MINE!!!!! The dual adjusting straps rock - the support belt is great, the memory foam straps are AWESOME - just don't leave in the cold car overnight or they'll be a bit stiff until your body warms them up.
Also got mine from Quirky - love the new prints!! I have brown and my DH wears it a lot too!!!
I've had mine for a couple of weeks now with my 4 month old. I'm still learning with it. My guy is pretty little, so I'm thinking it will get better over time. I find the straps a little hard to get on for now. I'm sure it just takes practice.
I got the all black (so DH would use it, too) and it picks up everything. I wish I had gotten a pattern so it wouldn't show so much fuzz. I also wish it were more cleanable as my DS has spit up in it many times.
But, it seems pretty comfortable so far. I just have to get used to that it sits really high up on you (at your real hips). Sometimes I forget to pull my shirt down underneath!
yes, I have a black Ergo Sport, and wish it was any other color. There is always white lint on it and I have no idea where it comes from. If getting a Pikkolo, I'd definitely recommend a color/pattern.
There is a new one out called Leaf (I think) that is so pretty! But also DH friendly, IMO.
