We just found out a few weeks ago that we are preggers . I am about 6 weeks along and already I feel the pressure on my tummy when I wear our 15 month old. Who is about 23lbs now. Yes, his nick name is Chub Chub.

I have a few different types of wraps I made Mei Tai, Side Sling, and a Moby. I need help on positions that will not put pressure on my tummy. I feel like the back positions are just not sturdy enough to keep him from falling am I just insecure about back wearing?

I would practice wearing on your back more. I wear my 2+ year old on my back all the time and I am 5 months pregnant. Maybe you need a more supportive carrier if you don't feel your mei tai is secure enough for a back carry.

Congrats on your pregnancy!

I often used a ring sling for hip carry. Not good for long periods of time, but he often preferred running around by that time so was in & out a lot (around 15 mo I was in 3rd tri & really sensative to belly pressure).

Have you ever thought of getting an ergo? i use one and love it though am not pregnant yet so may change my mind , i find it to be the best for back wearing i've used so far.

I found an Ergo to be terribly uncomfortable to wear while pregnant. I could do a sling for short periods and a Babyhawk tied higher up. By the time I was 6+ months I just used a stroller for long walks.

I wore #1 all through #2's pregnancy in a Moby, but he was 14 months when DS2 was BORN, so the weight built up gradually.

DS2 was 2 when DS3 was born. I wasn't wearing him full-time anymore, but I did hold him a lot in a ring sling on my hip or sometimes back. The reason I preferred the ring sling was that it let me pick him up and put him down quickly and easily, to give him his "baby-wearing fix" so he felt better about walking places. If I expected to carry him for a while, I wore him on my back in a MT.
