Can I make my own woven wrap?

I'm not sure how the woven wraps work - is it the sort of thing I can make myself, if I can get my hands on the right size fabric? Or do I need some kind of specialty fabric? I just don't think I can afford a woven wrap right now -- even the used ones are pricey -- but how hard are they to make, really? Any experience with this or advice? I've used a Moby but I'm ready to upgrade for this next babe. TIA!

Honestly, no fabric you can buy is quite as nice as 'real' woven wrap fabric, but you can use Osnaburg. You'll need about 4.6m if you're average sized. You can't have any seam in it so you'll have to buy 4.6m. You'll split it lengthwise - finshed width to be 27" or so. Hem the sides well and then check out vids on youtube and thebabywearer.com
