This morning my DS napped happily in the Moby. In the afternoon, he just cried and cried in both the Moby and my SBP ring sling. I'm not sure if something was wrong with the positioning of his feet, legs...something was just not right. Please clarify the "frog leg" concept for me...are his feet supposed to be pointed, i.e. like pointing your toes with knees bent so his legs are under his body, or is he "sitting" cross legged? Or is he froggied with his knees bent, legs up, but his feet flexed? I'm nervous about spreading his legs/hips too far...but also worry about his being folded up strangely, and not perfectly "froggied"...can anyone clarify?

I'm desperate to get this to work because I have a 2yo and a newborn and today was AWFUL. I NEED babywearing to work and today I totally FAILED at it and basically had a meltdown, which made my 2yo DD have a meltdown... greensad.gif

Actually, the new recommendation by the Babywearing Institute is not to froggy the baby's legs at all, but to wrap them with their legs out from day 1. (This works with wraps and ring slings, but not with mei tais or SSCs). The thought is that froggying the legs can put too much pressure on the baby's hips, or put them in an unnatural position. I always wrapped my DD with froggy legs as a newborn, but I did wonder if it was actually comfortable for her to be sitting on her feet like that.  Can you try him with legs out and see if he's happier?

Baby's knees are bent 90*, and around level with baby's belly button and legs spread about shoulder width apart for baby.

This will have baby's back in a rounded manner.  Feet/legs can be outside of wrap, ring sling or podegai. HTH
