Hi all -- Not sure what kind of answer I'm looking for here....

I have a Moby and one of those Seven slings... and a Maya Ring Sling - I find them all hard to use on my 5 week old kiddo.

I live in Guatemala where babywearing is super common and my MIL is here with us and she just flings (well not literally) my son on her back with a rebozo and he passes out and is super chill. I can't figure it out! I'm fumbling with all these expensive carriers and she makes it look so easy. The rebozo we have is too small for me it seems - she's like 4'-something I'm 5'8".

As a 1st time mama I didn't (and still don't) know what to look for in a baby carrier. I just bought a Boba, which will arrive in a few weeks but my kiddo won't be big enough for that for a while... And I was just looking at Mei Tais - those can be worn starting from newborn?

I want something "easy" to use (not miles of fabric like the Moby or all knotted up and hard to fanagle like the Maya Sling or completely worthless like the Seven)... am I just complaining? :) Unfortunately I can't try anything without buying it because I'm down here.

AAAND I'm starting to feel sad and left out because MIL can calm baby in an instant in the rebozo... :( I want babywearing powers, too!

Any suggestions? I guess just practice more with the carriers I have...?

Thanks fer reading.

Hi,

Could be a good idea that you contact to  Lomas Natural in Guatemala. They do Babywearing workshops.
