I am so frustrated. I just bought some gauze fabric from Joann's. I have been trying over and over again to keep it tight enough when i wrap the ruck sack (or any back carry really) but it always seems my six month old is leaning back!!

And also seems like it is too tight around legs when i do the final 'over and under'. She doesn complain but there are red marks after. Any tips or suggestion?? Thank you!!!!

Try a different carry?  I don't like the regular rucksack carry for the same reason - the bunched passes across the legs - and if you have a leaner then a single-pass carry like the rucksack is probably not your safest option.

How about a back wrap cross carry?  That's the one that was easiest and safest for me to start out with.

I'm not crunchy. I'm evidence-based.

I like the directions here for the rucksack carry http://wrapababy.com/baby-wearing-wrapping-instructions/rucksack/982/
For me, the most important part of doing a back carry is to make sure you really tighten the top rail and keep pulling it tight as you wrap around. It is easy to forget to tighten it the whole time and I've had times where I would stand up, look in the mirror and see that the whole top of the wrap was loose!
I really like the rucksack carry because it's so quick and easy.
The red marks could be because the fabric is thin? I had one like that and it just got a little uncomfortable because where it bunched up it wasn't soft, it felt more like a rope/cord.

Oh yeah, one more thing with the crosses over and under the legs. I also do a twist after I bring the wrap over the legs that goes under the bottom and then under the legs to the front. I think that keeps the fabric from being too tight on the legs. Although I really only did that after she got bigger and heavier. I see your baby is only 6 months old so just spreading the cross out a little would probably work well.
