IM, I really loved the Maya - really. So much so that I just got the same thing for my second, ten years later.  But, I do wish I had given the woven wraps a better try early on, so that would be a wonderful albeit expensive gift.

Re: seasonal slings, while I do think there are some slings that are specifically winter slings, I don't feel that there are "summer" slings. What do you think?  I mean, the sling fabric has to be sturdy so you can't get that lightweight. Maybe focus on a light color so it's cooler?  And woven over knit?

I do know there are those solar fabric slings, which seemed cool, I guess but I've never felt one. It is an interesting idea for sure.

Good luck in your search but my vote is to just get her a nice non-winter sling.

I have seen mesh slings meant for the shower. They would be cool on hot days.

Doesn't Gypsy Mama have a wrap that is meat for water/summer?
