When I was pregnant I got an ergo because that's what all my friends used for their babies, but I noticed that the body was too wide and cut into my baby's legs when her legs were out, and it also didn't seem to come up high enough and I didn't like using the hood cover for head support when she would fall asleep.
The beco is so much better!! I've been wearing her twice as much because of this thing, AND because it's way more comfortable for me and for her to wear her on my back so I can do more things around the house while carrying her.
that's all.... just gotta say i love the Beco over the Ergo- I know the beco vs. ergo debate is discussed a lot and I googled the heck out of it before buying one and I'm really glad I did. We're keeping the ergo though- for my husband because it fits him better than me.
We discovered the Beco when DD1 was a few months old and it's virtually all we use for DD2. I *love* the adjustable base and the crossover straps especially.

I prefer the Beco to the Ergo too (and my sister is the opposite). I always recommend to friends to, if possible, try both on before buying either because even though both are good carriers, I think generally most people strongly prefer one over the other.
