Hi all! I love the idea of babywearing but just can't seem to get 15 w/o DS to play along. I have a Little Frog woven wrap and have been attempting the standard front cross carry. I've gone to a babywearing meet and have watched lots of youtube videos, so I sort of know what I'm doing. But whenever I try to put him in, he starts crying, wriggling and resisting. I can't get him to hold his legs remotely still, for one thing. If I just continue despite his protests, I have a very sloppy end result and he is not happy. Anyone been through this? I really want to make this work!

Can you get someone to help you?  Maybe try a different style of carry - I use a hip carry with my moby, tho that's for bigger babies who can hold their head up.

If I remember correctly there's another wrap style you can use for newborns that also puts them in the perfect position to nurse.

So I would say see if you can get someone to help you, check too see if baby is too hot when you wear him (This was a problem with my son in a wrap carry) and see if there's a different style of wrap.

Also - I made a great sling style wrap out of a blanket (Found the instructions on youtube).  When my boy was that little he LOVED that.  Maybe try that too and do the wrap when baby is a bit bigger?

Hope this helps!

Try a Rebozo front carry you can get it mostly set put him in and do the final tightening even if he wiggles pretty safely.

A front cross wrap carry an also be tied first, an then you can put baby in. But some kids actually don't like carriers much. I knew a little baby who never go into any of the major styles. She was the sort to fuss to be put down. Any chance that's your kiddo?
