Kyla(3 & 30 lbs) in our back carrier

Came out great i think! Next one I will make some changes in the straps, but the body came out the perfect size ... not too big on an infant, but still big enough for kyla

Now I just need to find some nice purple fabric so I can make another :LOL

Great Job! I bought the same fabric at Joann's last week and made a pouch for my 2 month old. Sling making is definitely addictive. I'm also thinking about making an ABC when dd#2 gets a bit older.

I think I'm getting a hotsling in that fabric.... is it slightly stretchy? The fabric looks like the one I wanted, very pretty! Nice job on your ABC!

Yep! Its the same fabric that hotsling has Its slightly stretchy, but i did the inside layer in a medium wt corduroy so the carrier itself doesnt stretch I actually have a ton more of that fabric that I was going to make a diaper bag out of months ago :LOL

Yep I used the instructions here:
http://www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/inde...aby/asian.html

The only thing I changed was the dimensions slightly, it seemed a bit big for a newborn. I dont think it was really hard at all, nothing but a straight stitch The hardest part by far was the straps... and that was more time consuming than hard because i stitched them right sides together, flipped it inside out, then stuffed it with fleece for padding. Then topstitched each edge and down the center..

The sewing of the actual carrier portion was easy!

ooooh pretty!! i love that fabric. are the (relatively) narrow straps comfortable? i am thinking of trying to make one as soon as i get a few things i owe people sewn up. it looks great, if my first attempt at a carrier comes out half as well, i'll be thrilled!!

That looks great! I made one from the same pattern and thought that the pattern works really well.

Just a question about the wearing technique.

When I use mine, I slide the shoulder straps under the baby's legs as they come around to the back. I noticed that yours go over your dd's legs. Does that add more support? Does it dig into her legs? KWIM?

They are super comfortable when i cross them over the chest... but not AS comfortable when i carry her like a backpack.. They are super padded tho, lol... but next one i make I am going to make them a bit wider just in the shoulder area.

:shurg I am a newbie at this thing, i just thought thats how I had seen it online somewhere, LOL. she hasnt complained of any digging in... and i dont think it really touches her leg much so I think its ok i have a feeling its a matter of personal preference..... but maybe someone else has more insight? I could just be doing it wrong

Oh sorry for the late responses..... we are on vacation visiting my mama
