Thanks for posting the links, these are great! I didn't know about the term "dry-lactating" (in your Africa pics). I think that must be a great way to bond with the little ones, but I don't know whether I would do it. Shows how much more attached other cultures are compared to ours, esp the CIO mainstream one.

Talk about an old fashioned "paci." That one was warm and had arms!!

I found this ebay auction this morning. It's one of the Maio baby carriers without the straps. I'm trying to figure out from the pics how the straps attach and how they tie them. Was the top of the T across the baby's shoulders? Did they put waist straps on them? Now I want to go to China and talk to the mothers and grandmothers!!
