when ds was a baby we just held him all the time...not a problem at all, but now at almost 3 he really wants to be held again, alot, so i went out and bought an "over the shoulder baby holder" and we LOVE it....dh loves it, i love it and ds LOVES it...it is great!! i made sandwhiches today while still holding him...he calls it a "ride"! i am just wondering how old all those are that y'all are wearing......

My main sling baby is 6 months.

The others (almost 2 and 3 1/2) like to be worn as well.

My hat's off to you for slinging a toddler in an OTSBH!
I need a Mei Tai or wrap for my oldest. You are one great slingin' Mama!!!!

Ds until sometime around 3 1/2 yo. the maya wrap was great for the back carry as he grew.

Dd is still my little sling baby at 1 1/2yo.

I wear my 11 week old pretty much all day. I also have a 2 year old and he likes to be worn around the house for fun every few days (I usually do a back carry in a mei tai).

My son is almost 21 months & is still LOVING to be worn & I'm still loving it myself. UGH! When I have to carry him, it breaks my back. Thank goodness for the wrap.

Baby boy is 8 1/2 months old, and over 20 lbs. He gives me quite a workout! At least my arms are in pretty good shape... now I gotta do something about the rest of my jiggly bits. :

Mine's 1 1/2

But he's starting to want to walk. I try to relish it as much as I can... he's not my little baby anymore, waah!

My baby's six months, but already 19 pounds! It's amazing to me how my back will start to hurt as she grows and then stop hurting as my back strengthens to compensate for the extra weight... it's an ongoing cycle, of course...

Current sling "baby" is almost 2, still worn whenever out in public basically, not around the house anymore though. FINALLY! I had to wear him while vaccuuming until he was like 1.5 because he is afraid of the noise. Now he prefers to hide in the next room over while I do it. And I don't have to wear him while cooking anymore, he will sit in his high chair and snack while I make meals. I must say it's nice, he's 30+ pounds and I'm pregnant. I usually use an unpadded ring sling, although I also have a Kozy.

Can't wait to have a little wee one in the sling come spring!

Good for you mama, listening to your ds! I see you're ....think that's why? Maybe you should consider a MT, or a soft carrier for such a big boy! Dh's seem to like the Ergo.

dd is almost 5 months, as for the boys, they were just too heavy, DS#2 was 18 kilo at 18 months (2.2lb to the kilo) and from about 12 months gain a kilo for every month until he was 2 and a bit, and I had major back problems from carrying him around.

I'm wearing 9.5 month old Aly. She weights about 19lbs and is 28 inches tall. I've been wearing her constantly since birth and plan to do so until I get too pregnant (when I get pregnant) to do so.

Can I borrow someone's newborn to wear for about an hour???

Stella is 19 months and I had the grand opportunity to wear a newborn a few months ago... OMG, you forget how nice it is. It's like a drug and I am not kidding. I went into babywearing bliss mode. Wearing a toddler is nice but wearing a scrunchy little warm newborn is almost (almost) enough to make me want another one. Almost, lol.

My son is 2.5, and he still loves to be carrier daily. I love to carry him so it all works out.

I teach a free babywearing class once a month, and it was this morning. I always make sure I squeeze myself in a little newborn sling time, just for practice! They are so little and floppy and yummy-smelling and just .

That is so great that you are listening to his needs and wearing him. As an child attachment therapist, I have seen that children will often revert to needing the things they needed as a baby when they are having a hard time with something or it is a transitional time. Many people say "don't indulge that!" but I firmly believe that you need to meet those needs so that they feel that the world is a safe, loving place. My baby is only 6 months, but I will wear him as all as he wants!
