My husband and I are gathering supplies for our baby due in December. He is very into the idea of babywearing - he said since I've worn the baby full time for the first 9 months, he'll do his share as soon as it's outside.

The slings he's seen most are maya wraps, and he really likes the fabric of them. I just have a couple of questions:

1 - has the learning curve I often hear about with ring slings been a problem for other dads?

2 - would a medium work for him? He's about 5'11" but he doesn't need a long tail for nursing discreetly. :LOL I'm getting a hotsling in my size, but I'd like for us to both be able to use the ring sling (I'm 5'4").

I haven't heard any complaints that rings slings are hard to learn for dads. Many dads wear them with no problems

According to the maya wrap size chart, you should both be able to wear a med size.
