I ordered a hotsling. I've been trying to figure out the best kind of bag for carrying stuff while babywearing. I'm not having much luck with just guessing, though. With my ring sling, I used a back pack. It required a little doing--but she was also on my hip, not in the front.

My mother in law told me to pick out a bag on LLBean and she'll buy it, but I'm not having ANY LUCK!

Any suggestions or experiences?

You can always do something like a messenger bag -- sling baby first, then sling bag across other shoulder.

I have a Kecci diaper bag I picked up at TJ Maxx that I really like, because it has backpack straps as well as a shoulder strap -- I can unclip the backpack straps and put them away in the back zippered compartment and vice versa.

If you can get your arms in it, you can always try using a backpack style bag with a sling or pouch, but I find thinner straps -- not real backpack straps -- work best for that. They're not as comfy as a real backpack, but I'm usually not looking for a real backpack when carrying my kid's stuff.
