I know the Obi is brand new, if someone has it and can post thoughts I would be grateful. I have several awesome slings but am really wanting an easy front-facing carrier that is not a wrap.

Thank you!

They look cute! There will be lots of opinions on them over at www.thebabywearer.com

I want a Pikkolo with my next baby! They have little cinches at the base so it can be narrowed to wear a baby Bjorn-style. I like wearing a little babe that way.

I have an Obi and am reserving judgment until my baby gets a little older (she's 4 weeks and not big enough to face out yet)....it's definitely simple and cute but since it's not adjustable it may be difficult to wear if it doesn't fit you well. also i like to have a carrier i can nurse in, and this one doesn't allow nursing as far as i have been able to judge. it is very cute and well-made though and i like the idea and the simplicity of it.

i'm definitely in the market for a pikkolo as well! i really want to try one.

nak..another question-

anyone know where to find an Obi that isn't the Anka (sp?) or the other one that everyone seems to have online? I love that black flowered one I have seen in the Beco photo, but can't find it online

That one's not available -- it was a demo that they ran up. The only two available are the Anaya and the Lenka.

The Beco site offers the Cinnamon Meadow or something like that. But the Midnight Blossom you are referring to is not available.
One advice about sizing. Lots of mamas over-estimate their size. Someone who is really a medium would think they are a large or x-large, for some reason.

Mothering Tao-

I am 5'9" and weigh between 145-150 at any given time. Pants I wear 10 safely, sometimes 9 misses but never 11 or 12. Large shirts. Would I get a size 2 and do you have any coupons for MDC mamas? I'm looking at your site!!!

Hello, Lactationmom,

I'd say you're a size 1 in the Obi.
Although we're exactly the same height, I've got 50 lbs. on ya!
I'm size 2 with size 14 jeans (those with quite a bit of stretch ) and always Large or x-Large t-shirts.
Did you know you weigh less than Tyra Banks? just random fyi.

I just ordered the Obi for my SIL for her new baby as a gift. I could not help but pull it out to take a peek. I really like it! I don't have an infant to put in it, though, to really test it out. It seems really comfortable for mom and baby. One of the main reasons I got it for her, though, is because it's not too "crazy"; it's similar to the Baby Bjorn style that I know a lot of parents are comfortable with so I think she'll actually use it. I don't think she would use a wrap or mei tai or anything like that. The Obi is so simple and beautiful.

ETA: I got her the Cinnamon Meadow pattern off the Beco site. I think it's perfect for a girl or boy.

So wish I had a local store here that I could just run and buy one from. Any chance your local store ships? Mind sharing the name?

And I too am obsessing over the hard to find Midnight Blossom!
