For some reason, a lot of guys like buckles and padding, so you could try a soft structured carrier like an Ergo, Sutemi Pack (I believe these are no longer getting made, so you might be able to get good deals if you can find them), Beco, etc.

Just like with everyone, though, which carrier is "best" is totally individual. Ergos are pretty easy to find these days, so you might be able to have him try one on to see if he likes it.

my DH likes the Beco a lot, uses it all of the time. They have a few that are more manly than others...

FWIW, I think the Ergo's in general are very unisex.

My dh is an ergo guy all the way (although he insists on calling it the "graco." ). The Patapum also works well for many dads.

My husband loves using the Beco... we got it in a solid brown color (I believe they call it 'espresso') and he looks oh-so-manly in it! is there anything more attractive than a man wearing a baby?!?

but he also loves using the Moby--especially because he's a big guy, and the Moby 'fits' him easily. But he does get more funny comments from people in the Moby then with the Beco!

dh says i shouldn't broadcast this. but once he figured out that in a 'girly' print Beco, he gets loads of attention from women, he's been more than willing to wear a girly Beco than his good old Patapum, which we don't even own anymore.

My DH and I compromised with a reversible BH. He got to pick the print of his choice on one side.

Since your DH does not like the BH, I would recommend the Ergo or a wrap.

My husband chose a black and tan ergo for himself at the baby wearing shop. DD is 18 days old so He's still getting used to all the straps and stuff and needs a little help getting into it, but once it's on he loves taking our daugher for walks. We love the fact that it will fit for a long time and can be adjusted for both of us.
