Hi, I have a 6 mo. old and a 2 year old son. The only way my 6 mo. old will take a nap is if I walk her in the Ergo, then I put her down as soon as she's in deep sleep.

I used the Elizabeth Pantley's suggestions to teach my son how to take naps, we had a wonderful routine, read books and then I rocked him and put him down, no problem, at some point he even stopped liking to be rocked and I just put him down.

My dd (the baby) on the other side it's been very hard to put down for naps, nothing works for her except the Ergo with the sleeping hood, if I try to rock her she cries as soon as I start, if I try to nurse she pulls away to see the room and doesn't latches back, she tries to play even if she's tired. Nursing is only an option when we are out and about and she's dead tired. Cosleeping doesn't work, she loves to roll around and doesn't stay still even to nurse.

I nurse her to sleep at night and some days it works other days when she keeps pulling away I rock her even if she cries, normally she stops after 5 minutes and then she falls asleep.

I don't know for how long I will have to walk her for naps, Will she be able to go to sleep on her own as a toddler? Am I creating a bad habit?

Can anyone with a similar situation give me advise, I'm afraid it will get to the point that I'll have to tot around a 3 year old for naps.

I don't know past 18 months since my dd is that age, but she would not nap unless I wore her in the Moby Wrap. That was how she slept. Now, I didn't have another child to care for so I just let her do her thing. At some point, on her own, she just started to nap lying down in bed while I nursed her. Now, at 18 months, I still nurse her a little bit in bed but she often just rolls over and falls asleep.

I'd say don't worry too much about it. She probably just wants to be close to you since most of the day you have your attention split (?) between both kids. I'm having my second at the end of August so I really can't speak from experience with having two- but the way I dealt with napping in carriers was to just go with the flow.

Good luck!
