In protest to the discriminatory and unjust policy of Facebook administration classifying breastfeeding images as obscene content, on December 27th, 2008 M.I.L.C. is asking all of you to change your profile picture for one day, to one which includes an image of a nursing mom.
This could be a picture of you or someone you know nursing a child, it could be a painting or image of a sculpture of a breastfeeding woman, it could also be a photo or image of any nursing mammal....We ask that you include the status line of "Hey Facebook, breastfeeding is not obscene!"
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A "VIRTUAL" EVENT AND DOES NOT REQUIRE ATTENDANCE AT A LOCATION...
so, if you're not already on Facebook, this is an excellent excuse to join.
Participate in the event and invite all your friends.

I noticed a slight discrepancy...in your first post you say it's going to be Dec 29th, but on your facebook page it's listed 2 times as Dec 27th. Which is it? I'm assuming it's the 27th?
I hope everyone invites all their friends list. I invited everyone on mine and was really surprised at some of the people who accepted the invite.
We need HUGE numbers to get this event the attention it deserves.
If nobody made the connection - the event page mentioned events taking place globally to tie in with the on-line nurse-in - the Palo Alto nurse-in at Facebook headquarters is one of those events.
Sorry - if you're having trouble finding the page go to the group "Hey, facebook, breastfeeding is not obscene" and it's under 'events'
Sorry again - I'm a linking moron.
