If you think I was making this up:

In indonesia, a law was passed:

And we thought Giselle was over the top...

Huh my question is how can they possibly enforce that after they leave the hospital?

I understand what they are trying to do to keep kids healthy and start them out the best way possible but I dont think gov should be getting involved in that manner.

This sounds like one of those "it seemed like a good idea at the time/what were you thinking?" ideas. You know, the ones that are easy to come up with while laughing with friends over dinner, but on reflection one realizes how damaging they could be? Like chocolate flavoured formula, for example (http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSN0913405820100609).

Hopefully sane heads will prevail and they'll go forward with the good ideas (support at work, restricting formula advertising etc) and ditch this awful one.

There was a clarification of this law posted on one of the threads on babycenter:
http://community.babycenter.com/post/a23886853/breastfeeeding_mandatory_by_law...?cpg=18&csi=2196 516598&pd=-1

Looks like it's not directed at moms, but at other people who might interfere with breastfeeding (employers, business owners, etc).
