Did anybody see good morning america this morning....

http://abcnews.go.com/US/breast-milk-baby-doll-girls/story?id=13251971

How can you be outraged over a breastfeeding doll?  What about the peeing/pooping doll?

Of all things that make girls grow up too soon how is this even on the radar?

This has been a super hot topic on one of the other forums I frequent all day. It's a fairly good mix of mainstream, middle of the road, and a few AP women, and so far only one person over there has been upset or offended by it, so that's good. Actually the main conversation has been that any doll or toy can be breastfed without specifying a doll for it, and that there are too many dolls with electronics already. I was pleasantly surprised and it made me hope the outrage was more for ratings/hype than an accurate protrayal you know? I think it is refreshing to see a doll without a bottle!

Agatha_Ann - Can I join your mommy group? ;-) They sound great!

I agree - of all the things that could be attacked for what it represents.  It's all about the concept, ya know?

I heard about this on The Talk.  Sara Gilbert(I love her) was defending it and also extended nursing.  Amy Yasbeck was on and she nursed her dd til she was three!  I just don't get what the big deal is..wait, yes I do..because it is sexualized. That's what people think.  All this nonsense about little girls growing up too fast because they are pretending to nurse their dolls...give me a break.  Why is it normal to have a doll come with a bottle?  It just makes me mad.
