I just saw an awesome photo of her in the most recent star magazine. She is just walking along, totally exposed, breastfeeding her one year old. Of course, the magazine tagged it "not normal" :, but then they also gave that tag to standing on your head, showing off your not tanned legs, and looking for something in the trash. Whatever. It is an awesome photo!

Sorry, that should be Star with a capital "s". It is the September 6, 2004 issue. Can it be found online do you think? I'm really not very computer literate, I'm afraid.

They will probably have it up on the web when the newest issue comes out so you will buy it while it is one the shelves and not just go to the web for free.

I'm really hating how the Star labeled that pic "Not Normal".

hmm, yep an email is deserved for sure, I'll go see if there's a feedback addy. Although they make their living being controversial so they'll probably just take it as a sign they're doing their job right. :

ETA: They do have a contact page. I sent my 2 cents worth along, but what I'd really like to do is send a thank you to Ms. Moss for having the courage to be normal in a country that has forgotten what that really means.

I won't even bother with writing to Star (they're not worried about winning any Pulitzer prizes )- but I wish there was a way to give her some support or a thumbs up for that!!

Mama to DS (8) and DD (7) Aristotle was not Belgian. The central message of Buddhism is not "Every man for himself." And the London Underground is not a political movement.

I dont think they implied that breastfeeding isn't normal, I got the impression that it 'wasn't normal' to be able to bf and walk at the same time. (I don't think I could do it lol)

anyways what a nice picture! I will show my DH, he is a huge fan of hers

eta: just in case you cant read the caption this si what it said-

"no special effects here. Multitasking matrix star carrie ann moss really is feeding her 1 year old son (whose name hasn't been made public) while walking through west hollywood on Aug. 11th."

I think thats a pro breastfeeding comment, almost commending her and being able to do it. I mean is it really normal to see people walking with their 1 year olds in hollywood breastfeeding them? Who wants to be normal anyways?

Just my opinion!

I thought *everyone* walked while nursing. I was doing that by the time DD was a month old and still am with DS (3 tomorrow!!! )

HOW DOES SHE DO THAT? Wow she is more of a woman than I am... I get tired just picking my 1 year old off the floor; I'm tired just watching her carry that kid around and nurse! Go Carrie Anne!

I am so impressed and that looks so incredibly uncomfortable. Double wow.

That was such a cool picture!
I can't nurse my 1 y.o. while walking, so more power to her! I wonder if she posts here?

That was me with my 10 month old in Target today. Only I was contemplating air fresheners, not walking through Hollywood....

Go Carrie!

One of my very good friends has a 50 lb 2.5 year old she can tote and nurse. She tops out at MAYBE 110, I have *no* idea how she can do it!!! Boggles the mind.

You could try this:

Just found it googling, don't know anything about it other than what the page claims.

Definitely click on "view full size image." As much as I hate invading celebrities' privacy, I can't resist that picture! Do I spy a nursing necklace?

Awesome pic! I can still nurse my almost 22 month old while walking around. When she was that age I did it all the time!

thats not so bad, thanks for writing what it actually said, i bet alot of people think thats a difficult thing to do (hey, its alot easier in the sling, though..just ask my heavy 22 month old)

I think a note to the actress to let her know what a beautiful bf child she has would be a better way to honor her as a mother, instead of putting negative energy on the magazine.
