Does anyone know what he was saying? I heard him say something about "political mumble grumble mumble".

And did anyone catch the mama who wasn't part of the group, walking along on her cell phone saying, "You will not believe this, but..." And she went on to tell the person on the other line about us. I promptly sat down on the pavement to the side of her and tandem nursed my daughters. I think I made her uneasy. Hehehehe...
I heard both of those things. I think the man had a screw loose and was just excited by the big gathering. He was shouting something about government, blah, blah. Nothing that made sense.

The woman on the cell had just told someone she was with: "I have to tell my friend so-and-so about this. She will die! She would NEVER nurse in public."

One thing I noticed, though, was several older women who stopped by to ask what was going on. They each responded with "You tell them!"

Mom2AliKat: I think I was walking by right when you started tandeming your daughters! I was hoping my 3-yr-old would get a good idea from it, but he was a little overwhelmed from all the picture taking .

Don't tell me I will have to suffer through it again... :

I am so very proud...I love the title of the news article...great headline "Lactose Intolerant" LOL

i like the other article, too (NY daily news one)

way to go, mamas (and papas and kiddos!!!!!)

it does figure, though, that barbara would make a comment that minimizes the comments presented on the view, in order to make the demonstraters appear to be overreacting (which is what some uniformed people might think)

Had to quickly run online to share that Regis and Kelly just mentioned the Nurse-In. They mentioned how Kelly nursed all 3 of her kids and some stupid comment about how she should have brought Regis out ther to nurse him (didn't get it). Regis was out of town yesterday and Kelly went on her kid's field trip so she didn't get to see it.
Now get this, because it is an ABC show when Regis asked why they (you all) were doing it Kelly said because some people don't agree with it. Um, the reason was because those darn ladies at The View said nasty comments. At least they mentioned it.
Way to go Mamas!

hi,
I live in Tucson, I saw on the 10:00 news last night that there was a nurse-in at our local affiliate station. Great job ladies! I wish I could have been there with you.
I was searching on our newspaper, but couldn't find an article to post.

I just had to chime in here with a big I wish I could have been there but NYC is a long ways from WI

While reading the NY Times article, I had to wonder what Baba Wawa would have thought had she been sitting next to me while I used my hand pump while traveling for work. I suppose that would have been preferred because I looked more like I was just feeling myself up under a blanket rather than feeding a child. :LOL

I can't wait to see the coverage about this in Mothering -- of course, that's preaching to the choir but it's still cool.

Ok, I'm thankful for the NYT article, I really am. But it didn't impress me. What about "extended" breastfeeders? Yeah, my daughter still nurses at 20 months. It's no longer an issue of "it's the only thing I can feed her". I nurse in public - often holding her on my hip while shopping. I try to keep my breast and stomach somewhat covered, but toddlers don't always approve of that. Luckily, the folks here in NC aren't as closed-minded (or rude) as the folks in GA. (I just moved).

I know we need to start somewhere, and this is a good start, but it's just frustrating. And lord, don't get those folks started on tandem nursing. :LOL

Just saw the Regis and Kelly bit - cool!!!!

It was kind of annoying how she didn't mention what it was really all about - just that it was pro-breastfeeding but still really cool that it got mentioned!!!

Only 15 mins. until "The View" is on. Wouldn't it be fitting if they mentioned it today when Shakira is on? After all she has the album cover showing her "nursing," with the title "Oral Fixation."

Now I know why I never watch TV. Rosie O' Donnell DEMANDED that her partner stop nursing because she was jealous of Kelly's bonding with the baby? Give me a break.
