Ditto to all of this! I was LMAO at the cowgoddess.com site! And my babies always hated being under a blanket. Everyone in my DH's family is so offended by breastfeeding but most are getting used to me now. I don't cover up anymore, although none of my breast shows since I use my shirt to cover. But, I am not going to make my baby uncomfortable because some adult humans cannot handle the sight of a human baby eating. Get over it already!!!!

It's done! Thanks for waiting!

This is the full list of all the TV commercials I saw on The View last week, the week before the Nurse-In in NY, from Monday May 30 to Friday June 3, 2005. (This includes the ads I listed in my previous two posts on this thread. ) I hope I haven't made too many mistakes!

If you have been offended by Barbara Walters bashing nursing in public,

or upset when a View host announced how wonderful it is that Elisabeth is starting to give her baby formula, and encouraged the audience to applaud,

or are sick of Star Jones bashing breastfeeding on the show, etc. etc.

you can tell the advertisers what you think!!!!

Listed by name of Parent Company

If you see a number in parentheses such as (2) or (4) that is the number of times I saw that commercial between Monday and Friday.

Hi!

Well, I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it already, please forgive me if you did. I watched it today (they are going to discuss the BFing issue tomorrow - WEdnesday... BW and Star will be there.)

Barbara called in the show this am (Rosie was filling in) and she said she felt sorry and really bad about this whole thing. That her comments were taken out of context and blown out of proportion. (Not.) Gee I'd feel bad too if the advertisers were calling me about offending their core audience - women.

BTW, Rosie said that her partner only nursed for a month... partly because Rosie didn't like how bonded they were and she wanted in too (bottle feeding).

WATCH the Jimmy Kimmel show on ABC tonight!

About 10 minutes into the show, he talks about the nurse in. . he plays the tape of what Barbara said on the 18th.
He plays the tape of what she said today on the view.
Then he says, what a minute.... and he goes back and plays the tape from the 18th again.

She is clearly saying that "she" was uncomfortable, and the man beside her was HER publicist (not some stranger).

On "the view" Tuesday, she is clearly heard saying that "he" was uncomfortable.

Jimmy Kimmel was clearly implying, and showing, that she was lying today.

Please someone on the west coast, tape this.

Distribute this widely!

I have satelitte TV, so now I will have to stay up until 1 am here, to watch it on the Spokane channel
(My husband just watched it - he is at his sister's house tonight, he had to phone me right away to tell me!)

Do any of these shows broadcast on the Internet at all? Or have their shows archived? We don't get TV reception and I'd love to see them ...

My six-year-old is walking around chanting this. But he can't say lactophobia, so it's a little garbled!

NURSE-IN MOTHERS AND SUPPORTERS VINDICATED: THANKS JIMMY KIMMEL!

As seen on Tuesday (07 June 2005) night's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live (also
an ABC show), Barbara Walters clearly says "It made us uncomfortable"
referring to a woman breastfeeding her infant on an airplane. This flies
directly in the face of her statement and a phone call she made live to The
View yesterday, where she claimed it was only the man sitting in the seat
next to her who was uncomfortable, as she claims, many men are.

Barbara Walters and the other ladies on The View are in the middle of a
larger debate now regarding attitudes towards breastfeeding and nursing in
public because of recent statements they have made that have angered and
hurt a lot of nursing mothers in the larger public.

In fact, so many mothers are upset by the general anti -breastfeeding
atmosphere of The View that "Nurse-Ins" were staged all across the country
on Monday. By far the largest, with between 200 and 300 mothers, the
Nurse-In in NYC outside of ABC Headquarters triggered smaller Nurse-Ins that
were staged in Charlotte, NC, Cleveland, OH, Louisville, KY, Tucson, AZ, and
Redding, CA. The mothers were exercising the rights of their children to
eat whenever and wherever they needed to.

Multiple requests by the mothers to have a representative on the show to
participate in the debate have been refused.

Great work, Momtwice! Now we all have to pick up the ball and contact those advertisers. The lousy "The View" has gotten free publicity this week; now we have to vote with our wallets and let the advertisers know how angry we are.

Due to either sleep deprivation or this pregnancy's ability to suck all the intelligence out of my head, I can't come up w/any kind of email to send the advertisers. Does anyone have a generic email/letter that they wouldn't mind if I blantantly plagerized?

TIA!

I, too, would like a sample letter of what we can email to the advertisers.
