I just saw this on promom.org.

http://my.webmd.com/content/article/74/89251.htm

It is an article about the myths of breastfeeding and the big old ad next to it is an Enfamil about getting $250 in free stuff, I guess sometimes you have to refresh to get it. I didn't it came up when I followed the link.

There is a 3 min activist about it.

I refreshed it a few times and did not see the formula ad. I'm not surprised there's one on there though. Formula ads are all over the place...unfortunate. When I win a gazillion dollars someday, I'm gonna plaster the US with pro-breastfeeding ads!! lol!

Maybe I am just "lucky" both times I went to it, it had it there. I even refreshed and it was there within two refreshes.

there are 2 spots w/ads - a banner across the top and a box on the side. The banner acrosss the top is for Enfamil and it seems to be permanent, while the ad in the box on the side changes.

M, mom to DS1 (8 yrs), DS2 (5 yrs), and DS3 (2 yrs).

Here's the ad for those who aren't "lucky" enough to catch it.

Well, I don't think that WebMD is a bastion of healthy advice, anyway. Not that this doesn't still suck, but I wouldn't expect much different of them.

I just sent it through promom, it is really easy. They have a letter you can use or you can write your own in the box on their site. It did all of them while I was there.

I sent a letter I think last week and I got a really horrible reply about how some moms can't breastfeed or choose not to, and formula is needed in those cases, blah blah blah. I am too pregnant and tired to come up w/ a decent reply, so I'm hoping someone w/ more energy will give the jerk a good reply to his crappy letter. Blah! But maybe they took the ad down?

Formula ads are everywhere because money talks unfortunately. Some companies feel that for them to keep running they need the fromula co. money.

Maybe forward it to promom? I'll bet they'd like to know what kind of crappy replies people are getting.

Incidentally, I went and read the article and it's got some pretty lame advice in there anyway. Anyone care to email them on that point?
