This whole VS thing is infuriating! I cannot even imagine being told to not BF in a store made famous from BOOBS!
Count Mississippi in.
A couple of us are going to go in and just begin BFing while walking around the store. Same day, same time as y'all.
Good luck to everyone!
P.S. MS just passed a new law saying BF women have the right to BF wherever. So this will be a perfect time to make a statement!

As far as I know there are several ways to go about this and it's up to you and whoever is coordinating your area. Some women opt to just "shop" and nurse. Others choose to sit out front and nurse. Make sure that you call your mall's property mangement if you're going to involve media and sit down, outside nursing. Otherwise you might be met with security. I believe Firstkid4me actually is coming up with a press release that she'll post or PM to people. Hopefully she'll chime in with what's going on, on her end. Those that have done nurse-ins before. Please share your expertise with us. This is all so new!

While I have never had a problem breastfeeding in my mall before (Palm Springs, CA), I will show up just to nurse in my VS jut for the point of it all.

What kind of information are you looking for Corby? If you go to your find your tribe area, I've posted one for Florida, and they're talking there.

Smeep, if you go to find your tribe, then go to the area with Texas, there's a list of Victoria's Secrets in each state, and should be a list of mamas talking about doing something in Texas. If you contact your local LLL, you should be able to get more mamas to go. We're asking for help with the local things, if mamas here can do their part to spread the word, we'll have an awesome turn out IMO.

Anna, Snooter went to bed, but I'll leave a message for her to come to this page and see your post. You're awesome, thanks for taking on Cleveland!

Courtney, our demands are for federal law to protect a nursing mother, to give her the right to nurse anywhere that she would legally be allowed to be with her baby. (I totally used to have your glasses! )

Misty, WHERE in Orlando? I was hoping to have one happen at the Sanford mall. I'll come to the Tribal area, but I know there are more Florida mamas who'll read here too.

They did in AZ too, except I think it had to do with BF in any PUBLIC place. I guess VS isn't a public place, but a corporate entity.

Can someone make a stickie with all the details?

There is a VS in Prescott, I'd love to organize something!

AZ new law says that a woman can nurse her baby anywhere where she can be legally present. So, VS is obviously such a place !

Sorry, I just don't have time to read all the pages, so I wanted to ask if AZ mamas are going to do that. If so, where and when (I'd love to jump in!)

Yulia.

Okay, so this isn't to reinforce the need for VS to educate their employees and their home office about their breastfeeding policy?

I'm sorry if we aren't being clear enough. The issue is two fold. We want VS to educate their staff as this doesn't seem to be an isolated incident with them. We also want laws changed so that babies and mothers are protected while NIP.
