That was so nicely written. It is nice to hear from those who don't find it a big deal to see and from men who just appreciate it for what it is... comforting and feeding a child.

Erika, mama to three beautiful kids (plus one gestating), and wife to one fantastic man.

That' so awesome, especially from an older man, since that generation is less bf-friendly! His story touched my heart too and I sure wish I could have run into a man like that when I was BF, all I got were words of discouragement from guys.

So sweet. I actually find the older generation is always most supportive - many of them are pre-formula babies/parents and seem to be happy to see things being done the way they did them - I often get positive comments on NIPing from little old ladies

Take the time to heal from your marriage before you move on with someone else. Make a list of all the qualities you would like in a new partner and then work on growing that way yourself. ~mandib50

Aww wow. I'm not one to cry at the drop of a hat but now I'm all teared up. What a SWEET letter! Every newspaper should publish it. Every flight attendant should be REQUIRED to read it.

Rock on Grandpa. Rock on.

That was beautiful, brought tears to my eyes. I think I'll print it out and keep it. THAT's how society should view BF.

Wasn't it so nice how he called it "comfort" Old fashioned yes... but it drives me CRAZY when new moms called it "feeding" like they are vampires... "Oh yes, he feeds every two hours" or "I think he needs to feed" I always suggest that they call it nursing because nursing is an all encompassing term which feeds their belly as well as their needs for nurture... but to call it Comfort, it's like- "To hell with the milk transfer- that baby just needs mama right now!" It gives full acknowledgement to the nurturing side of breastfeeding and is totally outside of the (grrr) "breastmilk is the optimal infant food" defense.
