i work for a large international corporation that has as one of its main clients another large international corporation. the client is a pioneer in green technology.

they (the company for which i directly work) recently began a campaign to encourage employees to submit "bright ideas". mine is for my location to set up a "Lactation Station". we have over 500 ppl at out branch, and i am amazed at how many of them are pg women.

i found an article from Liz Baldwin on lll.org, and some pdf info on aap.org.

has anyone written up such a proposal? i want to hit from the "green" angle, and also touch on the $ the company would save in health care costs and lost man (woman!) hours.

any help would be appreciated!!! TIA

There is a lot available on the Internet. Here are a few sites to get you going:

http://www.usbreastfeeding.org/Issue.../Workplace.pdf

http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/hwi/...tion/index.htm

http://www.ihs.gov/PublicInfo/Public.../circ06_05.htm

http://www.businessgrouphealth.org/h...olwellbaby.pdf (scroll down to the lactation support part)

Hope that helps.

Where are you located? Do you have a perinatal coalition nearby? Through my job I do some work with my local perinatal coalition and back to work bf support is one of our focuses. If we have an interested company we can go in, do a powerpoint presentation on all the benefits of workplace support, then we can give some goody bags for new moms. Maybe your local coalition has something similar?
