I mailed mine today!! Are we all going to open them on the same day, or are we opening them as we get them? The deadline for mailing is September 17th, right? Or is that the day we're opening them? What do you all think?

Well, the last I heard we were supposed to send a candle, but the candle wasn't included in the $20 limit. So that's what I did. Oh, and I also put both my screen name and my real name on the card, so the mama could figure out who it was from, plus "MDC November DDC Cyber Shower."

I just sent mine out, but I have to send the candle separately because I got a cool thing from an online store. Anyway..that might get there before the candle!! Exciting!!

I think it's fine to open them when you get them. The first person who gets her gift should start a thank-you thread!

I'm so excited!

Eek! I have to hurry and get to sewing mine so I can get it mailed out! This week, I promise. I got the coolest candle, though. I hope the mama I'm sending to likes it! I actually ended up having to buy two, because my big giant Truman dog ate the tip of the first one I bought, so I had to buy another.

Monica, mama to Olivia (6)

What kind of candles are you all sending? There are so many different kinds.

Alisha, Army wife to Nathan , Homeschooling mama to Scheeli (May 2003) , Bronwynn (Nov. 2004) :, Piper (Nov. 2007) , and Wesley (January 2010)

Wouldn't it be cool if we all waited to open our gifts on the same day? It would be oh so hard, but neat!

I think that would be cool!! It would be like a real-time shower! We'd all be posting at the same time--like a November DDC chat! The only thing is we would have to make sure everyone had the gifts by that day... That means no late mamas!

What does everyone else think?

Candle: A small white one...it is scented with a typical GA scent..gardenia I hope that it won't offend!!

Same time: Great idea, hard to arrange. I like the idea of just opening them when they get here and posting to say thank you

The logistics would be difficult... This is probably the best way to do it. It's just fun to think about.

we were going to light them when we knew another mama was in labour? so that when we are in labor there are a bunch of candles burning for us...so i thought we might need a couple...if its just for our labour though...please take note mama who has me...please send me a birthday cake size candle (none of that 18hour stuff) :LOL

Haven't sent mine yet, either. Made the first part today, should finish this weekend. Isn't it funny? What did we have, 6 months! :LOL Anyway, candles... I think we should light them for everyone. Of course, we'd need a few for that so perhaps this will be the first candle and we'll buy ourselves the rest. The candle is actually the hard part for me- I feel like I should get some natural soy candle or something... but I think my mama is going to have to settle for a Yankee Candle or something along those lines!

Amanda, mom to dsd (16), dd (11), dd (8), and ds (born 11/12/11).
