Samuel James made his arrival on Sun. Nov. 14 at 2:36pm weighing in at 7lbs, 5 oz and is 19 1/4 inches long. All three of my kids were born on Sundays

I had been having prodromal labor for a few weeks and then on Sat. I decided to go ahead and take castor oil. I did and thought it hadn't really had much effect but then at around 5pm I started having some contrax, much like the ones I'd been having. I went to bed at 10pm and they didn't go away. I woke up at 1am and they were stronger. I got up around 3am and had to breathe through them, but they were not so bad that I couldn't talk through them if I wanted to. Around 5am I got in bed and started using my hypbirth cd. We left for the hospital around 7:30am and my midwife met us there. She brought a birth ball which I really liked and I walked around the hospital for awhile. When I arrived I was at 4cm with a bulging bag of water. The labor was pretty slow and steady. My midwife Lisa massaged my back as needed and helped me get through the contrax along with my dh. I was able to stay really relaxed which made them a lot less painful. By 2:16pm I was at 9cm. I was really ready to get the show on the road but my bag still hadn't broken yet. I decided to go ahead and have her break it so that I could push. Sure enough a few minutes later, I felt his head really coming down. I was at 10cm at 2:30pm and he was born at 2:36pm after just 2 pushes! He just slid right out! I guess that is what having your third is like:LOL I pulled him out onto my chest once his shoulders were born and it was the most amazing experience of my life. My husband really felt a part of this birth too. My midwife was just wonderful. No screaming at me to push, she just stayed really quiet and said I was doing a great job and that he was doing what he needed to do. My other births were more traumatic because the Dr. had to run into the room when I had to push and the nurse made me try not to push, to wait for the Dr. which was horribly uncomfortable. This time Lisa was right there with me the whole time talking me through the process. Both dh and I were so happy that we chose her to help us with this birth

Sam and I are both at home and doing well (we left yesterday after less than 24 hours because we wanted to come home and sleep in our own bed). He is really healthy, just perfect and nursing like a champ. We're in heaven over here His brothers love him too!

Alexander Gerrit was born on November 16th at 1:10am, weighing 8lbs 14oz, 21 inches long. We were expecting a 10+lber due to big brother being 10lbs 10oz, so he's such a peanut to me.

We came home after 4 hours and he's nursing well.

Congrats to all the Moms and Babies!

Ezra was born on Tuesday morning at 4:12 am, less then 2.5 hours after arriving at the hospital. He was 9 lbs 14 ounces at birth, 21 inches, and a 15 inch head. I pushed for about 10 minutes before he popped out- rather bruised, but looking better rather quickly.

We came home this afternoon, less then 36 hours after delivery.

He's crying- got to go. More details later, including a middle name once we pick one.

Amelia arrived on Saturday... after 3 difficult days of labor! My birth center plans wound up to not be in the cards for us, but we were happy to deliver vaginally with our midwife. Dh and I are elated. Amelia has completely redefined the word "love" for us. We cannot believe how lucky we are. We are exhausted and dealing with sore/cracked nipples and my parents are driving me insane, but even so, I am still on a complete high.

Gotta go call the lactation consultant...

Audrey Claire made her grand entrance at 8:07 am on Friday, November 19th. At 9 lbs 3.9 oz and 22 inches long, she is a very healthy girl! She tolerated a miserable 52 hours of labor followed by a Cesarian for malposition very well and came out hollering and carrying on. She's gorgeous, happy, and thriving. We are all doing great and healing well!

I have to say it is kind of strange not waiting for her anymore! :LOL

hazel is here! after about 12 hours of labor, all 10 pounds three ounces of her were born at home this morning at 2:13. she's dreamy. we're still settling on a middle name for her. i've been ordered to stay in bed for a week to recover from the various aftershocks of our rather dramatic birth, so hopefully i'll get a story posted soon.

it was really neat to know that you were all out there. thank you.

Abigail Raeyn was born on Sunday, Nov. 28th at 7:16 pm. She weighed 7lbs 12 oz and was 19.5 inches long. She was born at home in the birthing pool. My labor was pretty intense toward the end, but my mother, MIL, sister, dh, and two midwives were there to support me. I couldn't have done it without them! I will post potos soon!

Edie Tangerine was born three weeks ago but thought I should mention her story here. Congratulations to everyone! What an exciting month November/December is with alot of amazing stories. here's ours:

The labour was long but a moving experience. My water broke at 3:00 in the morning Saturday with early labour beginning pretty much immediatly. Harder labour started around 8:00 Saturday night. Our midwife came by around 3:00 in the morning Sunday , checked me out and said she'll be back in three hours (was only 5 cm dialated). Those three hours were fun! Craig and Raina were with me with each contraction, rubbing then pressing on my back, breathing with me, bringing me water and frozen juice, telling me how great I was doing. The house was dark, lit only with candles in each room, very magical sense in the air.

Toby, our midwife came back at 7:00 in the morning, I was then 8.5 cm open so I hopped in the kiddie pool placed in our sunny living room. Between contractions I slept, during contractions I sang "ooohhhhh", or "god", or "baaabbbyyyy", or "ooooopen". Toby waited for me to feel natural urges to push. That didn't kick in so she checked me out on the couch and notice I need some rupture of membrane. Didn't hurt but once that was done I needed to take the biggest dump of my life!

We first practiced pushing on the toilet then pushed on the bed, and then when I got the hang of out, back in the pool where she was born within an hour.

She was alert and peaceful when she came out, midwives waited for our cord to stop pulsating (about 20 minutes) then Craigy cut it (the cord). Midwives (then there were two) took great care of us afterwards. They checked us out, bathed me and Edie, changed our bedding, fed us and tucked us in for our first nap together as a family. It was a glorious day.

We're still basking in the afterglow, figuring out her cues and loving every cute bit of her.

Blessings to you all,

Kathy, Craig, little Edie and Kitty!
