Okay,I'm slow...here we are 2 weeks into the New Year and I'm STILL eating Christmas candy
Does anyone want to join me in my quest to lose 5 lbs (in whatever healthful way that is easiest for you) by Valentine's Day?

There is a 1-5 lbs in January thread. If we don't want to join, perhaps we should just become pm weightloss buddies or something?

The only reason I didn't join the Jan thread was because Jan is halfway through and I'm just starting. I didn't want to push myself to lose 5 lbs in 2 weeks...Valentine's Day is an easier goal : )
PM buddies sounds good to me if no one else joins us soon

Our team is growing!
Okay, so this is what I'm doing...lots and lots of fluids.
At least two cups of tea, two bottles of Master Cleanse and miso during the day.
I am having veggies, fruits and minimal starch stuff. Cutting out wheat as I am sensitive. I am vegetarian so I stick to beans and nuts as protein.

I am in!

I am not posting my stats ....even online where the vast majority of you do not know me, lol.

I can do 5 by Valentines.

Here is my very sensible plan:

3 meals and 1 snack a day - totalling about 1800-2000 calories. Most calories to come from healthy food, only a few from junk.

Exercise everyday for 15 minutes. It will probably be on the indoor bike as it is cold out there!

Ugh. I'm gonna try. I'm not promising anything cause I have a pretty stubborn body, but this will help me keep accountability of my life changes.

Heaviest weight: 161
Current: 156
Goal: 140

I started eating "cleaner" these last couple of weeks and was already regularly exercising (three days a week for at least 45 mins).
Added coconut oil to the diet. Started it for skin health, but maybe it will help with weight too.
And water. Always drinking lots of water.

We'll see. Good luck to all! Happy weight losing!!

If I don't post to this thread again it's cause I feel like a miserable failure.
LOL!!!

Am I too late to join you? I want to loose 5 by Valentines Day! I did the Master Cleanser (did 6 days and finished last Friday) and lost a bit on that. I only gained back 2 of the pounds that I lost (yahoo).
Anywho... 5 pounds by Feb. 14. I like that goal. That is just barely over 1 pound a week. Lets do this!!

I am 172 pounds. My year goal is to get to 140.
Short goal is 167 by Feb. 14th.
I will get there by drinking tons of water. Drinking my shake every morning and getting in a workout 5 days a week. (starting out slow, it has been a year)
Start tracking my calories. (will set calorie intake goal later)

What will I reward myself with? New shoes.

Ooooohhhh......new shoes!

I would like kick a$$ boots that go up to near my knees to wear with a skirt (I am a bit off from those though)or nice high heels that makes me look even taller, or a great sandal (I have never owned a birkenstock...hmmmm)

Any ideas for low calorie or healthy snacks that satisfy?

I am having a cup of hot chocolate as we speak, and loving it!

I have also been enjoying a bit of granola over French vanilla yoghurt with a chopped up apple. I do admit I put about 1 tsp of real maple syrup over it (thank you MIL!!!) and it is so good and almost a meal! If you added some pecans it probably would be a meal .

Can I join in? I don't want to lose weight per se, I want to lose inches off of my waist. The rest of my body is fine with me. So here is my current waist measurement:

The thickest part of my belly, relaxed measurement-- no sucking in: 37 inches
My natural waist (smallest part) relaxed measurement, no sucking in: 34 inches

This is where I need to lose weight. I will be doing the Primal Diet and doing whatever kind of exercise I feel like doing and have time for (lol). Can't wait to get a skinny waist!

YAY!!!

I already feel a lot less bloated since starting the coconut oil...and fuller/less cravings. Think I'm getting some detox symptoms, but could also be allergies.
This will be a three day weekend...ugh...and I have the worst eating habits on the weekend!

What kind of exercises are ya'll doing?

So, how do you take the coconut oil?

I like finding new workouts on YouTube lol.

I like the idea of working for shoes. These are the shoes I want: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php...ng_id=37251234

Lol. I'm betting there are some pretty "creative" workouts to find out there!

I take the coconut oil straight in the morning and evening...usually swish it down with hot tea or coffee. I've been looking for some simple recipes, but haven't really found anything to try.

I am joining in. I need some accountability. I am on the 1000 mins thread, and am on target for that, but I have gone UP a pound since my last weigh in, so need to seriously reduce intake. I know myself well enough that I need a challenge or competition to do that. What really stinks is that I was down to 148 last summer, I just let myself go to hell during the fall and holidays due to various extremely stressful issues;

So, stress or no stress, I want my jeans to be comfortable again!

Weighed in this morning: 158
Wanna be by V-Day: 152
Wanna be long term: 142

Let the challenge begin!

I forgot to post my goal. My goal is to lose 5 inches combined from the two parts of my middle that I measured-- my natural waist and lower belly. So, whereas now those measurements are 34 and 37, if I get down to about 31 and 35, that would be awesome.

Thanks! I think I will try this. I used to drink a couple of teaspoons of coconut oil *in* my tea but a.) that heats it up and b.) it ruins the tea, lol.

Scale was down to 170 this morning. Yahoo!! (down from 172) Baby steps.

I am so sore from my workout. I guess Tae Bo Cardio Circuit 2 was not good for a 2nd day of working out exercise. I should have started out slower, lol. But it is a good hurt.

I know I haven't really lost much in inches but knowing that I am doing something about it makes me feel so much better about myself.

My fave way to get coconut oil in:

1/2 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup cocoa powder
2 tbsp honey/maple syrup whatever you could probably even use pureed banana or pineapple!

Blend everything together, and add 1/4 cup of toasted hazelnuts or other nuts, or shredded coconut or whatever or like. (Dried cherries would be yummy!)

Pour into a small dish and allow it to set in the fridge or freezer. Eat and be amazed at the yumminess.

There are other recipe ideas like this in the TF forum, for making fudge balls etc, I just find this one quick and oh so satisfying!

I am not crunchy enough for this forum. Everyday I get a little crunchier though! :

That sounds so yummy! I know some other good recipes for taking coconut oil, too, but they all contain fruits or sweeteners and right now I'm doing the sweet-free and mostly fruit-free diet.

So I tried just swallowing the coconut oil off of a spoon, followed with a drink, the way HappilyEvrAfter described, and that worked out much better than I was afraid it might. It slips down so quickly and easily that it doesn't leave any kind of overwhelming taste or oily texture in the mouth at all. I did it yesterday and today.

Don't get discouraged I know discouragement has been the most common reason I have fallen off the wagon in the past. I also know weight and scales are wonky things....some weeks you do everything right - and the scale does not budge. If your plan is sound, try it for another week and re-assess then.
