I did w5d1 yesterday too.  On Wednesday I registered for a 5k race in June so now I feel more pressure to complete the program.  If I keep up with running almost every other day I will have completed the program a few days before race date.

I did wk7d3 yesterday. Set for wk8d1 next week. I'm excited to be heading into the final week of the program. I'm registered for a 5K on June 3rd my first ever. I didn't think I could do it I was winded and tired but I just kept pushing on and said to myself that I would stop if my legs refused to go but they just kept going. My husband is having all sorts of joint pain though from it so he's going to back off a bit. Go back a week to the intervals.

I did wk8d2 today but on the treadmill. It's a lot harder for me to run on the treadmill than outside. It's a little disappointing to know that I'm only doing 4.2K during the 28 minutes so the 30mins won't be 5K for me I will need to either get faster or go longer.

I made it through Week 5, Day 1. It wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. Week 4, Day 1 nearly killed me, but the other two days were easier. I am not sure what to think about the 20 minute run I have later this week. I have one more running day in between and I hope I will be ready. I will be thoroughly impressed with myself if I make it through.

I just did w6d1 today. I felt pretty good and am even working on gradually increasing my speed. I was planning to sign up for a 5k on July 4th when hubby starts talking about going away on the 4th. Grr, he needs to make up his mind and let me know when he is planning stuff.

Running my 1st 5K race today ever at the age of 30. Wish me luck ladies! I am so thankful to this program. After this I am on to the 10K trainer.

I think I will repeat my current week. Life got in the way and I have yet to do my first big 20 minute run. I will start out trying it and then convert to either the 5 or 8 minute runs if needed. I can't wait for payday this Friday so I can get some new running shoes. I desperately need them b/c I can tell a big difference in the ones I have now since starting the program. I was already "overdue" for some new shoes.

That is so awesome!! Congratulations :)

I just did week 1 day 2 yesterday. I'm using the Robert Ullery podcasts since I don't have an iPhone or iPod touch. I'm shooting for running every other day.

Edit: here's a link to the podcasts: http://www.c25k.com/podcasts.htm

I do some of my running with the kids in the stroller. It does take some extra effort and slows me down but the up side is when I get to run on my own I feel so fast! I'm on wk9d2 of the C210K. Finding myself a little irritated with the intervals because it's hard to get to the zen place of running when I am waiting for the walk signal.

just completed wk 1 day2 and it was haaaarder! love the app though, don't think i would keep running on my own at the end when i feel like my lungs are going to catch on fire - i really obey that trainer lady :)

good to hear nillarilla - i felt as though the stroller was making it less hard than it might be otherwise but now i am looking forward to running on my own and feeling fast!

It's been two weeks since I last ran so I repeated Week 5.  I had thought about doing Week 5, Day 1 but felt good at the end of the first 5 minute run so I went ahead with Week 5, Day 2 with the 8 minute runs.  I'd made it that far two weeks ago.  I am not sure yet if I will do another W5D2 or move on to the longer 20 minute run.  I will have to see how I feel on Wednesday.

Wow, congrats! I'm almost done with week 2 and I feel like 90 seconds of running is about all I can handle!

Anyone else have problems with ankle stiffness (especially at the front of the ankle)? Is it just my calf muscles getting used to running?

I haven't updated in a while but I finished the program and ran my first 5k race last weekend.  I ran with a friend who has a pace slower than mine so I knew if wouldn't be my best time but being together kept us motivated.  We ran it in just over 36 minutes.  I then ran a similar 5k course from home a couple of days later and ran it in 32:14.  I feel good about that time and am now training to pick up some speed so I can get a faster time in my next 5k race in July.  Who knows...maybe there`s a 10k in my future.

Just to encourage all of you.  When I first started running there was no way I could ever run 5k non-stop.  The first few weeks were probably the hardest for me but it did get easier.  There were some weeks that I actually felt it was easier to keep running rather than take the walking break and start running again.  And it definitely can get addicting trying to improve your time, run faster, more hills, etc...  Good luck!

Congratulations that's a great time. I hear you about the addicting and wanting to get faster and add some hills in. I'm going to try a trail run this weekend. I just did wk10d1 of the 10K trainer app and it's definitely hard to add the walking in now that I know I can do it.

Tracy the joint stiffness is normal. I read it takes about 6 weeks for the joints to get used to the running impact. I think adding in Yoga or some stretching on the days I didn't run really helped me. My hips get really achey and stiff and one calf is tighter than the other that was causing knee pain. Make sure you have good shoes though.

It's been a while since anyone posted, but I will go ahead and and update that I can now run 25 minutes straight!  I started this (again, after at least two other tries) back in April so I'm not totally on track but I am keeping it up this time.  This is the furthest I've made it in the program.  The last 3 minutes were tough, but I made it.

Is anyone still doing this? Any updates?
I wasn't able to do much in the summer, for various reasons, but I am jumping back in at week 4.
I just completed w4 d2 today! Just two days ago (on w4d1) I couldn't run for the full 5 min! It is so rewarding/motivating to have such a measure of success!

I didn't finish the c25k program as it was intended. I took a break during a vacation then life got stressful and I took a longer break than I planned. I lost track of where I was in the program so when I got back into the gym I just winged it. Now I spend 50 minutes on the treadmill with 40 minutes being running. I am working on increasing my speed by doing an interval run once a week. My 5k time is around 37 minutes.
