Well, I had a horrible day yesterday eating wise - my husband found out he is going to have to deploy AGAIN (he just got back from a 15 month deployment about 5 weeks ago), and I let the stress get the better of me and ended up bingeing (YUCK!).  So I am back on track today and I think I have myself back in a happier place after a long vent to another navy wife friend of mine.  I was pretty active yesterday, so hopefully the scale won't show it to much, but I am recommitted to making the most of this week and NOT back sliding during this upcoming deployment.  Deployments are really hard for me food wise - to much alone time to get into a negative eating cycle (am have a serious emotional eating issue that I am working on!).  So heres to making the rest of the week really good so the scale will reflect all my hard work instead of my stupid mistake!!

Barefootmama, I'm sorry your hubby is being deployed again. I can't imagine how stressful that must be.

I am so sorry - what a difficult situation.

I have birthdays and parties and guests galore all month long and it feels like a food minefield. Also, my big goal was to get under 200 before my son's birthday and I did it! So, that has ironically deflated my sails a bit in that I feel less inspired to try to drop more (just maintain). That said, I really do have a goal of being in the 180s before the end of June, so I still need to work to drop about 10 more pounds ideally.

Claybear, we have a grouping of birthdays at the end of march/early april and it really is a food minefeild!!  I usually gain during those two weeks.  However, this year I actually lost during "birthday season."  What I did was decide I could eat anything I wanted on the actual birthdays (thus I could participate in the birthday cake, special dinner and so forth for the birthday, but I had to stick to healthy eating the rest of the time (thus the leftovers were off limits no matter what!).  I found that this really worked for me, because I was not mindlessly snacking on junk food for weeks, but I did not feel restricted or left out of the fun.  I also made a huge dolphin shaped cake for my daughter, and everyone got so full on dinner that they only wanted a few bites of cake each.  So I delivered cake to several neighbors, and we ended up with only a few peices left over that the birthday girl got to enjoy over the next few days.  Getting the left overs out of the house makes it easier to keep your wits about you!

Good luck!!!!

Yikes, I am so close to hitting the 20lb mark (since the first challenge started, that is).  I should definitely be able to lose 1.1lbs before the end, right?  That would be awesome.

It would be great if I could get to 22lbs though, because that would be a nice, round 10 kilos.

I'd like to go another 10 kilos, and I need to, but it is getting so much harder to lose now, even doing everything right.

Yeah after 15 weeks I am just totally done! I'm still wanting to lose another fifteen pounds but I just need a food break or I'm going to get obsessive and that's never good.

I weighed myself this morning and it was a significant loss - my tracking what I was eating and exercise have done be good this week - granted it brings be back to the start of the challenge but it is better than I was last week.  Need to keep eating well and exercising over the weekend so I can ring in Monday with a loss!

139.4

i won my local biggest loser contest, which ended today. lost more than 14 percent since mid-february. overall, i have now lost 48 pounds since november... a loss of 25.6 percent.

i got over the hump of the plateau i've been on for many weeks by:

1) severely restricting sodium to lose water weight

2) totally tanking up on water (ice water)

3) limiting my portion sizes of fruit salad, regular salad and EVERYTHING i ate for two days. small meals... some would call them snacks. on the last day, breakfast was an apple at 8 am, followed by a small portion of scrambled eggs and some red grapes at 10 am, then a very light lunch of lettuce with sunflower kernels and full fat ranch dressing at noon, then a McDonalds fruit and maple oatmeal at 3 pm, then a small fruit salad at 5 pm.

4) in addition on the last day of the contest i walked for five miles. that was 10 laps around our big block. i did 2 of the miles at 9 am, 2 of the miles at 1 pm and 1 of the miles at 5 pm.

AND

5) by the grace of God.

ALSO i reupped my intake of Coromega. it's not cheap and i had slacked off on buying it, coincidental with my plateau. i ate four packets of it on thursday and four on friday. i think it helped.

SO my contest is over, but this accountability thread continues. which is why i joined this thread! to keep me motivated after the contest ends.

i had my fun today, grilling Omaha steaks and enjoying 1.5 of them for lunch, cracking out a huge piece of my daughter's frozen leftover birthday cake, and eating it all. going to a Mexican cinco de mayo party and eating some tasty food.

i think i will be up a pound or two. back on the diet tomorrow.

that 139 is ADDICTIVE. i want it again!!

Aye, I'm a bit burned out too.  You are not alone.

This thread has definitely kept me accountable.  It's a strange thought really, being accountable to strangers...  Seems to work though.

i'm grateful to have a place to record my weight each week. that's what keeps me accountable. after the last BLC, i rebounded six pounds. this time it was one and a half pounds. and now i'm on my way back down.

i hit 139.4 over the weekend, and MAN i want the 130's again. i'm gonna get back there, for keeps.

Trying not to be discouraged that the scale is not reflecting progress because I know I have lost body fat (got the calipers done). I also have lost inches 2 in the waist, 1 in the hips and 1/4 in the arms. I can run 10  minutes straight with a short break and then another 8 minutes when before I could only do 90 seconds.

147.5 this morning. I'm a little shocked that it's still going down, though I guess I'm not eating much because of the nausea. (it's just that what I have been eating is tons of carbs)

189.4 this morning. I want the numbers to move down.  I'm hoping for another challenge after this one too!

Ugh. My first truly bad week in 2 rounds of this challenge. I am up two pounds after yesterday's birthday party. 198 this morning.

163.6 again. I am disappointed because last time I weighed myself I was under 163. Sigh

196.3

... And was 193 on Friday morning of course! I have logged 13 hours of exercise in the last 18 days though! I'm looking different, more fit. I feel different too. And some people have made comments that I look slimmer and fitter. I did take measurements in early April. Was thinking of waiting two months to remeasure and compare. so early June. I'm super discourage about my weight just going up and down. I'm trying to stay positive and stick with it. I can't give up! I want to be healthy!
