Anyone here have experience using the Tupler Technique for diastasis recti? I have a bad one and am very interested in purchasing the splint and exercise DVD. Would like to hear from real people what their experience/success/fail with this was before I buy it. I am hoping that this "technique" is as good as it sounds. My diastasis is 3.5 fingers wide and I am sick of it. I use to have a tight tummy (before kids) and I still look about 5-6 months pregnant. My youngest is 2. I know I'll never look exactly the same as I did before kids, but I'd like to at least not look pregnant. Hope to hear good things about this. If not, is my only recourse surgery??

I don't but I saw your post was missed so I thought I'd bump it up for attention.

Anyone with experienced advice to offer?

Not much experience, but I'll chime in with what I have!  I also started my childbearing years with a tight tummy.  I didn't quite have a six-pack, but there was nice definition.  I was pregnant with twins last year and miscarrried at about 5 months.  At that point, I was as large as many women are with a singleton pregnancy.  I also had diastasis remaining from my first baby, about 2 years prior.  My abs were a mess.  I checked out Lose Your Mummy Tummy at the library and started doing some of the exercises.  Within 3 months, I noticed a BIG difference.  I wish I'd have taken actual measurements, but my diastasis went from about 3 finger-widths to 1.  Of course, then I got pregnant again, so my abs are back to the mess they were!  eyesroll.gif  I did bind my belly postpartum this time, though, and I'm starting some light ab work now.

Now, I just need something to get rid of all this extra skin...  Even if I ended up with killer abs, you'd never be able to see them...  irked.gif

That sounds encouraging! I think I am going to get the splint and DVD. Having a hard time with the whole situation today for some reason.

Yeah, me too. Hate the extra skin. That's another problem altogether. banghead.gif

I was going to get the DVD, too, but I decided on Restore the Core.  I just bought it last night, so I don't have a review for it yet.  But it sounds from the website like the Tupler DVD isn't a workout in itself.  After finding out that my abs are so shot that I can't even do leg raises (or even get my feet 2 inches off the floor while laying down), I really want a workout that has already been designed to help postpartum women recover their abdominal strength.  With my DS's pregnancy, I just had the diastasis and didn't lose too much strength.  This time...  Ugh.  After back-to-back pregnancies, being on modified bedrest for so long, and a c-section, I don't even have any muscle left to work with.

I'm feeling really discouraged.  I didn't realize how bad everything was until I tried to exercise.

Hi I duno if this was posted but I was able to buy it here http://hstrial-cherylbjornson.homestead.com/~shop/dvd---diastasis-rehab-lose-your-mummy-tummy/150955/ for 25$ + 5$ shipping (didn't show up till I had paid and checkout out though weird!) and 2$ tax. So total 32$.
