After so many years of being overweight (and watching the scale go higher and higher), and finally losing about half of what I need to, I have learned one piece of wisdom that I can share with those of you whose scale won't budge:

 

Maintaining your weight, whatever it is, is a victory!  Don't discount it or be too discouraged by it!  Maybe it doesn't look as good in a weight loss challenge, but it is a personal victory, and be proud of yourself!  

 

It's heartening for me to be reminded of that.

2 days of physical therapy last week, not a lot of walking. Ankle is still healing and it swells when I do too much. I've got PT scheduled 2x this week + the exercises I'm to do at home. I need to be taking short walks every day, once the ankle heals.

Jaxy- i have 2 kinds of joggers sine I have the 3 kids. When it was just dd1, I got a cheap one from target(ok, not cheap, but around $100. When dd2 was born I got a Bob double and am amazed at the quality difference. I love love love it. It was close to $600 I think, but the Only thing we needed, so everyone gave us$$$ toward that instead of any other gifts. Now we are using both.... part of me wants to sucked it up and buy a Bob single since we do go running lots. I think the single is $400 though. You can find them used on craigslist, but they really hold their value, so you will find good ones for $250-$300 used.

My weight is at 167.5 not to happy... Hopefully this week will be a lot better...  Started the 30 day squat challenge Im' actually on day 15... Just trying it out to see if i get some results...

SweetSilver, lol dh does the same, he thinks he makes me happy by bringing some eclairs home, but it's actually the opposite : I kind of HAVE to eat them because he doesn't (and the baby is too young for that lol), but I don't really want them and will feel guilty afterwards. I told him to stop :P

 

Chloe'smama, 100$ is more what I'd be ready to pay lol, and actually a coworker had found one for 7$ (YES 7$!!!), used I guess, and that's the one I regret I said no... But my dh stays at home so it's not too bad, I usually go for a run when DS takes his first nap of the day, and dh is there anyway. BUT I'll keep my eyes open for a used cheap one :P

 

3LilChucklins ahaha I feel the same, but it's good in a way that we shouldn't indulge just because it's the week-end :P

 

I have VERY long hair and got a haircut (maybe a inch and a half shorter) yesterday, y'all think that contributed to the weight loss? lol

DBF isn't going to buy me a scale until later on this week. (around Thursday when he gets paid) so.. I won't be able to update until then. Still exercising, eating better now, and keeping my mind busy and keeping away from all the sadness.

IsaFrench, interesting ideas about the coconut oil. Glad it is helping you get where you want to go weight wise.

woodchuck, sorry to hear about the funeral.  Grief always does crazy things to eating habits.

SweetSilver, Yeah, don't think that chocolate covered pretzels will be appropriate every week.  Keep your focus! That is an excellent reminder that maintinence of weight is so much better than gaining weight.  

Jaxy, great job!  Glad you are on your way to a new goal for the end of May!

3LilChunklins, I am not sure why the tradition of Monday weigh ins started. Maybe for the next challenge we can consider a different weighin day.

I'm pretty happy with myself food-wise, but I've been slacking on exercise (mainly because of the rain and I do my exercise outside. I need to get a DVD player and a zumba kind of work-out disc!!)

IsaFrench (and everybody else that love coffee), I just discovered that putting Vanilla Almond Milk makes coffee taste awesome (AND sweet, with no need for sugar!). I always put cream and sugar in my coffee cause that's how I like it but really with almond milk I don't need to put neither!! I'm very happy of my discovery lol!

same as last week ...

- a little starch has crept up again in my menus + i had fried whitebait on Wednesday & oven fries yesterday

- was only able to go swimming twice last week instead of 4 times the week before ...

my doctor appointment is tomorrow

am glad i'm still under 70 kg, but am desappointed i didn't loose anymore this past week, plateau-ing is irritating !

Pretty happy with that. A kg/week is obviously not realistic for me while I'm breast feeding so I'll be happy with 0.5kg/week. The slower you lose it the more likely you are to keep it off, right?!

Started the week on a good note with an hour long walk this evening, including some steep hills. My brother pushed the pram but I carried 9.11kg of baby the whole way :-)

I'm at 212!  Only down 1lb, but it is good to see the number down, finally!

 

We're in the midst of selling our house, so the last week has been crazy and this week will be full of packing and moving things into storage. I'm hoping that counts as exercise as I doubt I'll be getting to the gym!
