Hello fellow Work Out Warriors!

What is your work out? What gets you moving? What are your goals? Whether you get pumped up by running, cross fit or fresh air........

Please share!!!

I personally need this thread to stay accountable.

I'm going for 1000 minutes this month. I'm traveling out of the country with a friend who doesn't work out. I'm going to be grabbing workouts when I can.

7/1. - 30 minutes upper body weights
7/2. - 45 minute run
7/5. - 70 minutes. 40 running. The rest sculpting

145/1000

I walk-- lovely walks through the woods, up and down the trails of the hill we live on, or down and across the valley, around, up and over-- and try to keep faithful to a short yoga routine daily (or as often as possible).  I also am a housekeeper professionally, and a gardener at home, and so those do get counted in some form.  I started this month with 2 crazy, exhausting days at work, I was laid flat with a cold that I am crawling back out of.  So, not a great start to the month for exercise, but hopefully I'll get into the groove and keep posting back.  

 

My goal is 250 minutes yoga and 600 minutes of walking/hiking--weekly walks, not massive hikes once or twice a month.  Last month I hit 820 minutes, and this would exceed that.  Hoping for more consistency, but even though I feel better today, I'm taking a rest.

Sooooo... I know I said I wouldn't do it this month and take it easy... Because like you SweetSilver I was sick as a dog and work has been CRAZY the last few days.... BUT I CAN'T HELP MYSELF loll! Now that I'm feeling better, I want in again and I want to keep losing weight.

Thanks for starting the thread, Lab! I had to deal with house contractors Thursday and Friday during my normal workout time, so I'm off to a slow start this month. Hopefully I'll be able to get in some good workout time this week.

In other exciting news ... I'm pregnant! On only our second cycle of trying! I'm not even four weeks along yet, so I'm trying to be just cautiously excited, but whatever, I'm actually totally excited. And DH is so thrilled it's adorable. I've done a ton of reading up on working out during pregnancy, and talked to my crossfit instructor, so I'm going to try to keep going for as long as I can. I'll listen to my body and modify as I need to. Also, the class is outside, although it is in the shade, and it gets hot in Texas in August. I'm really well acclimated to the heat and it doesn't usually bother me, but it's definitely something to keep an eye on. I got a ginormous water bottle and today I drank a quart of water before I went out and a quart of water during and after the workout (minus the water I dumped on my head).

I posted a thread a while back on maintaining established workout routines during pregnancy, but if anyone has any experiences they want to share, I'd love to hear it. I really want to stay strong and active.

 

8/2 - 20 minute walk

8/5 - 30 minutes crossfit, 60 minutes pole dancing

 

Total - 110 minutes

I'm aiming to do lots of walking and hooping...which I love!!  It's definitely a great workout...I use an adult sized hula hoop and can feel muscles in my stomach, back and arms ache for days afterwards.

 

I've had a very slow start to the month, haven't been well, so am aiming for a bit less this month (700 minutes).

 

And congratulations MamaJen!!  That's awesome news!  I'd love to give you some advice but I'm afraid I spent both of my pregnancies with my head in a bucket, definitely not working out!  Well done on keeping it up :)

Congrats MamaJen! I have nothing to tell you about working out since all I did was walking (about 45 mins a day under the NOLA sun) and work full-time til delivery. It was enough for me lol!

But I hear that you can pretty much do what you did pre-pregnancy...

I'm in Germany Jaxy!   I ran through the Black Forest this morning.  It made me weep it was so beautiful.   I was completely alone in the middle of nowhere!  Best run ever!

Is this the same post?  Does t look the same as the last one?  IT DOES!  It IS EXACTLY THE SAME!!

 

This month is going to be a Dud.  It already is a dud, and I don't see the end of the Dud-ittudiness, not in any meaningful future.

 

I think I'm out already.  On the positive side:  I only have to do 10 minutes in September, and I'll have DOUBLED my time for August!  I can do that!!! orngtongue.gif

So we finally bought a baby bike seat!!! That means more bike riding, yahoo!!

(btw before someone points it out, I usually wear an helmet, but I forgot it at work the other night! :P )

So yesterday we spent three hours at this place that just opened up called Hot Lava. It's kind of like an obstacle course/American Ninja/Parquor gym with all kinds of fun stuff. They have a slackline, a hanging ring forest, rope swings, lots of climbing stuff, hanging stuff, jumping stuff, a big springy gym floor, I don't even know how to describe it. It's made for adults but kids are allowed there until 2 p.m. It was so freaking much fun. And we got sweaty and tired and woke up *sore* this morning. Total blast, and a great workout. We were there for three hours, so I'm giving myself a solid 90 minutes of workout time.

Jaxy, I grew up in Metarie, on the lake. I always wished my parents lived uptown, and by the time I was a teenager, I was spending most of my time there.

Oh my Gosh!!! I am!!   I just realized....  Thanks Jaxy!

 

Well folks - I will be running on my home turf tomorrow and Friday.  The best part of my trip was my runs.  I am leaving about 8 days early.  Too homesick... and my traveling companion was a control freak! Lol!

Wow, was that a pleasure travel or for business? That's why I travel alone. Can't stand most people lol. Now that have my own family, I guess I won't have the choice lol. But I love my boys!

08/05 55 (25 jog+30 bike)

08/06 60 (30 walk + 30 bike)

08/07 55 (25 jog + 30 bike)

08/08 10 (giving myself 10 mins for walking to the park twice lol!)

08/09 ----

08/10 80 (20 jog + 60 bike)

08/11 60 bike

08/12 50 (20 walk + 30 bike)

08/13 30 bike

08/14 40 (25 jog + 15 walk)

8/2 - 20 minute walk

8/5 - 30 minutes crossfit, 60 minutes pole dancing

8/6 - 30 minutes crossfit

8/7 - 40 minutes crossfit

8/8 - 30 minutes crossfit

8/11 -- 90 minutes obstacle course

8/12 - 40 minutes crossfit, 60 minute pole dancing

8/13 - had to skip class for my first midwife appointment!

8/14 - crossfit 40 mintues

8/15 - 30 minutes crossfit

 

Total - 470 minutes
