Instead of focusing specifically on my weight or size, I'd rather come up with some exciting fitness goals to achieve, I think it would be much more motivational for me. The first ideas that come to mind are to run a 5K/10K/Half marathon and although I might consider that I'm not big into running. If I were to focus on running it would most likely be part of a goal to complete a sprint triathlon, or something like that.

However, I would love some more ideas for goals I can set that are more rewarding than just lift weights 3 times a week or attend yoga twice a week or whatever, but I am mostly drawing blanks!

But maybe some more ideas along the lines of:

Compete in Roller Derby

Backpack the Pacific Crest Trail

Go on a bicycle tour

Become a certified Yoga instructor

Try out for Ninja Warrior

Do you have any fun/silly/super challenging fitness goal ideas?

What about Tough Mudder? I need to start focusing on similar goals and while I'm in no way ready for such big goals I think doing a tough Mudder looks like SO MUCH FUN!

A while back I decided to register for a local sprint distance, women's only, triathlon.  It was great.  It gave me motivation to work out in the morning.  I didn't worry about how fast I completed it, but I did want to be able to complete it without feeling like hell the next day.  :-)  For me it was a much better method than saying "I will work out x times/week."  It was lots of fun too!  I did it three years in a row before I hurt my knee (that is a long story).  Now, I am finally getting back into working out again without knee pain and am toying with the idea of doing it again.  Other ones that look like fun are the "Color Me Rad" races, and the ones that are more like obstacle courses with mud pits, etc.  I think they would be fun.  I really don't like running, but I can get excited about these races if I keep my eye on the goal:  "completing not competing".

I have also thought about compiling a list of popular hikes in the area and doing them, one by one.  Or bike rides, or whatever.  I like lists.
