I'm at 181 even now. I was at two birthday parties last week and cake and icecream is probably my favorite thing to eat. I didn't have any at the first one, since it was a regular cake and I went gluten/sugar free at the beginning of my weight loss efforts. The second one had cake made with almond flower and honey, so I had a small piece of that.

MsBe, do you think that you're gaining muscle? have you checked your measurements?

Didn't post my weight for last week. It was 187. Today's weigh-in was 186.5.
Hurt my shoulder and head playing hockey, so skipped the extra hour of skating after my game. Hopefully, I will get to play this weekend.
Also, I have a dr's appt this week to go over blood test results. Going the natural route in dealing with Thyroid issues isn't strong enough, so looking into the synthetic version.

Hello!

I forgot to weigh myself on Monday morning. Just before I went to bed today I stepped on the scale and was pretty disappointed... 140.8 lbs... Too much cashews and too many homemade dinner rolls. I knew this would happen.

Bah! I'm late up to bat, too. Stagnant this week with no loss. I'll tweek my caloric intake a little. It's tricky to get the right number when I'm nursing.

In God we trust; all others must show data. selectivevax.gifsurf.gifteapot2.GIFintactivist.gif

Thanks for the feedback @sierramtngirl and @violetflapjack . I hadn't thought of taking measurements but think I might start this coming week, might cheer me up if my weight continues to plateau... First week of new running schedule is going really well. Did 4.2 miles Tuesday, 9.2 miles on Wednesday (my longest run yet, I ran the whole way, including a steep hill I had to walk part of on my 7 miler two weeks ago, and I felt great throughout ) and another 5.9 miles today. It was a gorgeous day, sunny with a cool breeze, and even though I was going easy and feeling no pain I finished under 56 minutes! I had serious doubts when my sister suggested I train for this race but now I am starting to feel more excited about it. Tomorrow is a rest day and then I hope to make three yoga classes and maybe something short on the treadmill again this weekend. Steering clear of the scale until Monday's check-in and just trying to keep my focus on how strong and healthy I am feeling.

@kwzo Mmmm, cashews . I gained quite a bit two winters ago eating nuts and dried fruit. It's been hard but I keep myself to a couple handful a week now.
@Turquesa Four lbs in one week is a lot, four lbs over two weeks: still a lot! Wouldn't worry too much about a single stagnant week. I wouldn't try too much to cut calories in these early months when your baby is getting all their nutrition from you, I'd just focus on eating the right things and being as active as possible.
@Amandamarie Sorry to hear about your injuries, sending you vibes for a speedy recovery and some playing time this weekend!

Week 4: 224.8 I weighed in on Monday, but totally forgot to post. My online class ended last week Monday. So glad it is over. Online only school work is killer.

Will be posting the table in a minute or two.

126.76 lb
= 57.5 kg
am so glad to have been able to get below 130 again .... one of my regular doctor visit is tomorrow, was hoping for a loss
(6 weeks ago, at my last visit, i think i was already at around 126 or so ....)

but then it's been an emotional roller coaster for the last 4 weeks
(DH lost his backpack in the London underground, in it his medication for a whole week and some rather expensive glasses he doesn't want to replace yet due to cost ... meaning that if anything happens to his contact lenses, he cannot go to work nor take care of the children ... this is too much out of my comfort zone ....)

at least i had a few days away by myself with relatives, was able to sleep without meds & generally start functionning "normaly" again ....
the only drawback is that i learned to make some bite sized special pastry typical of ramandan exchanges of pastries amongst families and friends
... and they are SO SO SO yummy ....
and the picnic i had made a batch for yesterday .... was cancelled due to the weather .... i have 24 left over, for now safely in a plastic container ....
need to find friends to give some to so as NOT to eat the lot !!!!

i did resume two days on the 5:2 diet late last week, which helped me loose (the same kg AGAIN) the little i had put on when away from home ...
now trying to combine this approach with the Harcombe eating plan ...
only 5 or 6 lb to go now ... but maybe the hardest ones ????

is that only 3 weeks to go until the end of this challenge ????

off to try find a thread from last November to check what my weight was then ..... (in case i can win something off the Harcombe website by sharing my story ...)

226.2 this week.
@IsaFrench , glad to see things are going in a good direction for you! Sounds like some stressful stuff going on.

AFM, I am changing up what I eat for breakfast. I am eating avocado, tomato, and cream cheese on some italian olive whole wheat bread. I think I had been a rut with my breakfast and eating things that weren't helping me lose weight. I bought some avocados on sale the other day and today they are all ripe. Need to try freezing them for future use while they are still perfect.

Not the dramatic drop I was hoping for, but at least moving in the right direction again.

146#. Much more reasonable this week. I'm feeling better this week, I've only had one day of pretty anxious thoughts. I am taking both kiddos on a cross country trip to see my family (who I miss dearly) for the last 2 weeks of my leave before I have to go back to work- yuck-on August 11. I'll be weighing in on my moms scale for the next 2 weeks. Great job everyone!

180 pounds even this AM. I had hoped for more since I have been more hungry/tired than usual, but I exercised less than I wanted to because I was tired so I suppose it all adds up. Maybe I'll eat more AND exercise more.

186.5. Tough week. So glad I didn't gain. I started Thyroid medicine 3 days ago. Just started having some side effects. Definitely running warmer. I had to turn on the fan, last night, when usually I wear a sweater.
Shoulder really sore, so I'm resting it, lots of Arnica for bruising.

63.5kg (139.99lb)

Which means that, since I stopped buying chocolate I have *gained* 1.5kg :-( I'm hoping that at least some of it is water retention but I'm sure that's not the only reason. I'm going to have to get very ruthless with my diet I think.

Posting late. I was 118.8 yesterday, though 117.6 today. After getting down to 115 something, I went crazy with carby things and regained several pounds. After being extremely upset about this (since a good day means zero change or a few ounces, but a bad day means several pounds gained), I'm back to a positive outlook for two reasons:

I now know I can't handle a buffet when I'm normally weighing my meat. If it comes up again for another party, I'll ask my husband to get me a plate.

I started running again after taking about a month off. I've ran 3 times in the last week, and it's easier each time. I'm running 3 mildly hilly miles a day.

Runners: What is "too much" to be running 3 times a week? The 3 miles is a good distance since after that my son gets squirmy in his stroller at the end (although he fell asleep today for the first time). I just don't know anything about proper running training. I just get out there and run (though I do stretch).

Sorry, I don't know how to do quotes...

When I take DS out I never do more than 3-4 miles, I live in a super hilly place so more than that is just simply undoable for me. (The half mile to my mailbox is a loss [down]/ gain [back] of 312 ft, brutal without a 40 lb weight in a very heavy stroller.) I am no expert (and would love to hear some more expert voices on this same topic) but I am only running 3 days/wk for the labor day half-marathon I am training for. DS goes to camp Tues & Thurs and DH is home Weds so those are the only days I run any distance. I started this spring by doing 3-4 miles twice a week and a long day, starting at 4.5-5miles once a week, and am up to two easy days at 5-6 miles and one long day at 8-10 miles. It feels good right now but I also wonder about running too many miles too few times per week? Most running training programs I see out there emphasize running 4-6x/week.

Just got home from visiting family yesterday and weighed myself on my scale this morning: 174. I am okay with that. I don't know if my dad's scale was calibrated a bit differently or perhaps I was dehydrated that day. But I didn't gain weight over the three weeks!

MsBe - I don't think putting a long run in the middle of the week is necessarily a bad thing. It's just less common. Bookending the long run with easy runs is also less common. But if you truly keep the first run easy and listen to your body on the third run (possibly cut it short), I think it's doable. I'm not an expert though!

I think there is a training plan out there that contends that running the day after long run is good for you since you learn to run on tired legs. If you want to Google, it's Hanson's I believe.

Jackies - The general rule of thumb is to increase mileage by 10% each week. Three runs of 3 miles each isn't an excess amount of running but I wouldn't move from little exercise to that schedule. I would consider doing run/walk intervals for a few weeks with increasing the run and decreasing the walking over time.
