You're welcome to post whatever exercise you do each day. You don't have to post every day, and you don't have to post the number of minutes or hours. This is just a place for you to record your exercise, however you want to do that, and be motivated to get moving and be healthier. If you have time and you want to challenge yourself, you can set a goal and try to reach or surpass it.
Here are some ideas in case you need them to get started or if you need to add some variety to your exercise routine: sweep the floor, porch, deck, sidewalk, etc.
walk up and down the stairs on rainy or snowy days
play catch with your child(ren)
kick a ball around the yard
throw a ball for your dog
walk the dog
take the trash out to the curb/road
ride an exercise bike (if pregnant and/or if the weather's bad)
ride a bike in your neighborhood or to work, or the library
swim in an indoor pool
nest (clean the house)
rake leaves
pick up sticks in your yard
vacuum
How much walking around the house can you do while filling up boxes of stuff to donate, dusting, vacuuming, throwing out trash, etc.?:-wool:bellydance :jog :surf
i am. scheduled procedure. sleep issues in disarray again following anesthesia (= too much internet surfing for today !). will be from now on ... switching to leg exercises for 5 to 10 minutes per day (instead of arm exercises as per last 2 months !) as well as ... as much walking as i can fit in the day, every day (walking is approved by surgeon, even 2 hours per day if i wish to). also allowed to resume dance classes whenever they start again late September ... and will be allowed swimming in 3 weeks' time too ... not sure for early morning jog. will ask surgeon on the 25th .... should go and try sleeping again ...
9/3 : went up a local summit (950 meters high, about 3123 feet high ?) with a friend (no kids & talking about which sports we're hoping to be doing this coming school year ....)
9/4: walked a lot in the morning, then a little bit more in the evening ... plus a few leg exercises (but am rather restricted about what i can do still, so quite basic for the moment, for about 8 minutes per day ... and all the time i do it, i'm thinking "didn't have to pay a gym membership for doing that at home" ... which IS another layer of motivation for me, actually ..)
managed it on the 5th
& today did two 10 minutes sessions to make up for yesterday !
= feeling good (although it's not much in itself, just being able to think that i completed my planned 10 minutes = a better mood already !)
9/8 ... walked for about 2 hours ... but in 4 "bits" .... late here and not had time yet for leg exercises .( had a luxurious well needed nap late afternoon, when i delegated meal prep and clean up YEAH !!!) but might possibly try to fit it in later on in the evening ... only takes about 9 to 11 minutes ... depending on how many repetitions i do ...
9/12: .... haven't done much yet today... walked 2 times 20 minutes ... and a nap, ... hoping to manage leg exercises later on ... should get off the computer for a start !!!
9/14: a little walking so far and 3 times already up and down 3 flights of steps. No leg exercises today, trying to keep enough energy for a late afternoon dance class.
Will be off line until Tuesday evening latest (going on holiday abroad ... as a reward for "being a good girl" in hospital 2 weeks ago !!!) ... keep up the good work & i'll be back next week (so, so, so looking forward to being allowed to go swimming & and then probably a week later, allowed to resume early morning jog ...)
did a little bit of walking these last few days, stripped wall paper and painted an entrance hall and a corridor, going up small steps many many times ...
