Is there one started yet? Im getting back on the train tomorrow. Ive been doing kind of ok today, but Im having pizza tonight so tomorrow will be my official day. Im hoping to lose 20 lbs in 3 months. Ive been part of WW for a while, but have been doing ALOT of cheating
Im also joining a shape up Challenge at my YMCA for bonus help/support.
Hi there ! I logged on today for the sole purpose of finding or starting this thread.
So here we go - I'm 155 today - I want to be 130.
I'm still nursing DS 2.5yrs and that last 10lbs is usually pretty tough to lose until weaning is complete - but I'm going to really try - also weaning may happen in the next 2-3months.
Even at 1lb per week - this will only take 6mos - I would be so psyched to be at 130 by the end of June.
I'm doing the points plan online and I've already tracked my breakfast.
Well I did perfect with eating yesterday until night time came around, that seems to be when the eating devil comes out & I just eat everything around our house
Todays a new day and a fresh start. Im going back to the gym next week or later this week...right now Im working on my eating.
I'm with you. I weighed myself this morning and realized that it's totally feasible for me to look REALLY good in a swimsuit by May if I start today. Or, I can get pregnant. Either one is pretty darn ok with me.
I'm 161.5 this morning. My goal for January is 152 and my "real" goal is 138. I hit 146 in December of 2005 so I know 138 is just a little more work than that and it was easy for me on WW.
So, I'm back. I do points. I don't like veggies enough for Core. But I'm trying!
I just weighed in at 219.6 lbs. Believe it or not, I "hide it" well. Still, I don't hide it well enough for ME, and I don't hide it well enough to be able to shop at "regular" stores. Everything is plus size. Occasionally I can get away with XL pants, but only rarely.
I'd like to hit 199lbs at SOME POINT in this year. I haven't been under 200 in about 6 years. I am very broad in my upper body. I hate it. I work part time at the YMCA, so I have a free membership, which I take advantage of. I try to work out 5/7 days a week. (If not I'd probably weigh 319lbs!)
My biggest challenge in the next week or two will be that my ds1 is having his tonsils/adenoids out on Thursday, and I've filled the house with ice cream and whole milk and pudding -- soft fattening foods, basically -- to help him recover.
PLEASE remind that the food is for HIM (and our other kids) and not for ME!

What I would do is be sure to stock up on sugar free popcicles/jello (I know I know - the sweetener is nasty) or whatever free or sort of free (I love frozen raspberries) treats for yourself so that when you're tempted to have their treats - just have some of your own.
I did ok yesterday until evening came around as well. We have some panda licorice in the house from x-mas cookie decorating and I had some....oh yeah - and I didn't eat lunch and went to a movie and ate the whole box of raisinettes and small no butter poppedcorn
.....so...other than that I did really well!
SO....from now on when I go to the movies I'm bringing fruit to eat with popped corn so I don't down the whole box of whatever is in the candy case, and I'm giving the licorice to the kids to take to the movies today to get it out of the house.
Yeah on the frozen fruit idea!! Frozen strawberries are so yummy with a little skim milk over them. And blueberries and raspberries... I'm hungry now!
Im doing pretty good today with eating. The only working out Ive done is cleaning a bit around my house. My workout routine starts next week. I did take a brief walk with the kids yesterday and I strapped 20 lbs of extra weight on me by slinging my one year old on my back while pushing my 4 yr old in the stroller. I tried to walk as fast as I could realizing how out of shape I am right now, I grew tired very quickly
I'm in! Been off the WW wagon for a couple of years. I'm a fairly new comer to WW as I joined in Jan 2004 to lose the baby weight (okay-the weight I gained AFTER the baby was born) for my 20year high school reunion. Lost it no problem because I started running again but then winter set in and the weight slowly creeped up. Working full time and being single mom didn't leave much time for working out. Finally this past October I moved my dd to a new preschool with longer hours so I joined a gym in December to start running again on my lunch break.
I haven't been to a meeting since Christmas Eve last year. My mom got me a pass for Christmas so I'll be weighing in this Saturday. I expect I have somewhere around 15 pounds to lose. I think I'm close to 150 but want to be down to 135. I'm only 5'2" but I'm a hearty sort and even at 135 I'm a size 8.
I started counting points yesterday. The first week is always the hardest!
Hey Lisa, we have the same GW. Well, that's more my gaol after the kids are weaned but still... I'd like to make it into the 130s by the spring. I was 160 exactly today. That felt nice.
I went to my WW meeting last night to find the most disgusting long line ever! They didn't finish the weighins until 10 minutes after the meeting got over and I was last in line. I sadly gained 2.8 lbs over the last two weeks. It's time to get back on the ball and track my butt off.
My husband and I joined WW this week. We're off to a pretty good start. We'd made a lot of changes to our eating habits over the past year so we're not in total shock. I'm kind of jealous that he gets 40 points!!
So, my goal weight is 125. My current weight is 145. I'm 5'4" and am on straddling the last point in BMI before I hit overweight. I figure I should get myself back down to "normal" for me and start eating healthy again.
Our motivations are:
better eating as a family
better portion control individually
more exercise as a family
feeling more attractive for the both of us
trying to avoid weight-related diseases such as diabetes, heart troubles, and apnea (especially my husband who has a long family history of diseases such as these)
finally feeling ready and not being afraid
But, I'm always hungry. I'm still nursing so I have 30 points but I never feel satisfied once I'm done eating. I'm hoping my body will get used to small portion sizes if I stop eating so much, but don't know if this is even possible.
**If I see any drop in milk supply, I'll stop the ww. I can see it because i pump. It's been a few days and my milk actually seems to be increasing. I wonder if it's the healthier foods.**
I posted this same question in the vegetarian forum but haven't had much response.
I'm always looking for quick and easy vegetarian recipes. Sometimes I get stuck in the same old food rut and a few new recipes can make a huge difference and cure boredome!
I came on tonight looking for a WW thread and found it!
I started Weight Watchers yesterday. I think I'm about 170-175lbs but I'm not 100% sure. (we don't own a scale) I'm pretty much just doing it on my own. My goal is to get down to a size 8 again, and if I could, I would like to be about 140 again... DD is nursing so I get 32 points, although tonight was our firsr anniversary so I definitely have used a few of the extra 35 points for the week with the glass of wine and the cake
hey ladies! happy new year! so there you all are; i was wondering why i wasn't getting emails.....it's january
so. i'm not doing meetings cause i've done WW on and off for...10 years? and i know how it's done. i just have to keep doing it. hah.
my only resolution is to go to at least one, preferably two, classes a week at my gym. i've been shy about trying the classes. but i've dived (dove? doven? lol) in and so far so good. i'm the fattest one in all the classes i've been to so far, but i'm not the clumsiest!
i've recommitted. i'd gotten reallyreally slack in my eating. i was doing coreish, and then i just started slowly eating whatever i wanted. i didn't gain but wasn't really losing either. then the holidays
but the good news is, it's only my mom and ds and me for the holidays, no parties, no office stuff, no relatives pushing food at me, no anything YAY and my mom is on the same page as me, WW wise! so i only gained like 3-4lbs. and half of that is off already.
i think i better start posting my weight!
last year at this time i weighed 197. my original starting weight before WW was around 203. right now i weigh 188.0....no, wait, i weighed 187 this morning. 187.0 i think. i weigh nearly every day. i have found that i keep better track that way.
i'm doing points this week. my weigh day if i were weighing once a week would be monday. so my week starts on monday. i'm having a little trouble keeping under points, but i'm not going much over. which is probably way better than i was doing without them altogether!
Just wanted to tell you all of a delicious recipe on ww online. Their chicken taco salad is very delicious! It's chicken seasoned with chili powder, baked corn tortillas, lettuce, l-f cheese, and seasoned n-f sour cream (we didn't have the seasoning the recipe called for so my husband mixed in a packet of Taco Bell sauce--we have a deep love for TB and had some extra sauce in the fridge). You could add in tomatoes or any other veggie you want. The crunchy and the seasoning was divine!
I just joined Weight Watchers and I love it. WW recently started the new plan and it is great. For me I find that counting points is so much easier than counting calories.
The WW guidelines are helping me so much with eating healtier. Tomorrow I need to go and buy more fruits. And I am trying to focus getting in my 8 glasses of water a day.
I went to WW yesterday for the first time since Dec 24, 2005! I'm still trying to get over the feeling of failure for having gained my weight back. I know that no one is judging me and there is no reason to be embarassed but it's my nature to succeed in everything I do. But at least I'm back on the wagon.
I didn't look at my weight though. I'm guessing I have the same 15-20 pounds to lose as before. I'll look after a few weeks if I have losses at weigh in. I'm not ready to face the number yet.
OK. I'm in. I'm below my pp weight, but I still am too heavy for me. 5'4" and 183 or there about. I don't look like I'm that heavy, but I feel it. I'll be going to a meeting this week, I think on Friday. I don't have a goal weight yet, but only because I don't know what would be a good one.

So let's hear what you're making!
Hi there,
I was just reading through everyone's posts and thought the recipe I wrote about the other day about chicken taco salad could be easily converted to vegetarian with black beans or something similar instead of chicken.
We seasoned chicken and cooked it in a skillet but it seems like flavored or even plain black beans would be just as good. Then we chopped up some fresh lettuce, grated some cheese, seasoned some sour cream--I think the recipe called for chili powder and something else--sorry, can't remember what. Then we baked a couple of corn tortillas. The corn torillas were brushed with olive oil and baked at 400 degrees until they were crunchy. Then we staked everything up like a tostada. With the seasoned sour cream, I think you wouldn't miss the seasoning we got from the chicken. This is a recipe from ww online.

i think i really should be doing Core. i allow extra Points for sweets at the end of the day when i do Points. sometimes too many.

From what the other WW members have said, the new plan is a combination of the flex points and core. The basic guidelines of fruits, veggies, milk products, and protein. To encourage more healthy eating, and less filling up on candy, cookies, etc. The calculations for how many points each person is allowed is also different. Some of the members said they would get more points while others were getting less points with the new program. On the flex plan the lowest point to eat is 20. The new program the lowest point is 18. And the flex points remain the same.
I really like the program it has given me more structure to my eating. And it doesn't feel like a diet that I want to be over already.
I made an awesome bok choy with brown rice recipe the other day for 4 pts a serving. I got it off of the WW site
Bok Choy and Tofu Stir-Fry
POINTS: 4
INSTRUCTIONS
1 sprays cooking spray
1 large garlic clove(s), minced
1 Tbsp ginger root, grated
4 cup bok choy, coarsely chopped
1 cup shiitake mushroom(s), sliced (caps only)
12 oz low-fat tofu, firm, drained and cut into 1/2-inch cubes
2 Tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
2 Tbsp hoisin sauce
1/4 cup scallion(s), chopped (green parts only)
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 cup cooked brown rice
Coat a nonstick wok or skillet with cooking spray. Add garlic, ginger, bok choy and mushrooms; stir-fry over medium-high heat until bok choy is wilted, about 3 minutes. Add tofu cubes and brown for 1 minute.
Stir in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, scallions and pepper; heat through, about 1 minute. Spoon 1/2 cup of rice onto each of 4 plates and top each with about 1 cup of tofu mixture.
I came here to find this thread again. We went to Sweden to spend Christmas with my in-laws (dh is from there), and I really need the inspiration to get back on track. I didn't count my points at all while I was gone. I did somehow manage to lose 5lbs in 4 weeks though. I think it was chasing my 14 month old around my in-laws non-baby-proofed house! And I was in general just more busy and active. But eating a lot more junk, so who knows. I have a feeling it might catch up to me eventually though. I weigh in officially on Wednesday (my meeting day, so I will see what the official verdict is then). We just got back on Friday night, and haven't really been grocery shopping yet. We are waiting until tomorrow since our local store has their once a month 15% discount day, and we really need to stock up, and that discount really adds up when buying more then $200 worth of groceries!! I will start tracking points tomorrow when we have more than bread, pasta, cereal and milk in the house!
