If I don't get to sleep at least I get to start the thread

I've got an easy 3 planned this morning. I'm running with my babysitters daughter to help her get ready for a timed mile. It's in june and she can already do an 8:17, she'd like to get to a 7 min mile. But today is just for me to get an idea of how she runs seeing as I've never run with her before. I'm excited and a little nervous/shy...

OK-new month and I have a confession. I hate running. I think it sucks. I dread the thought of having to do it and I always have. I'm bowing out of this group to follow my true love of water polo. Please don't try and change my mind, it has already been decided. I'll miss you all.

APRIL FOOL'S!!!! Tee Hee-I crack me up.
All 3 girls came down to breakfast in their bathing suits and flip flops to "get" dh this moring. It was pretty cute.

Just subbing on page 1 for once. Goals for the week as follows:

Tues - 3 miles, easy
Wed - Tempo run, 8 miles total, 5 at tempo pace
Thurs - 3 miles, easy
Fri - Off
Sat - Easy run 3-4 miles
Sun - long run, 11 miles

And somewhere in there I have a client 41 1/2 weeks, and one 40 1/2 weeks, and 2 earlier than that but convinced they'll have their babies soon - so we'll see how it all pans out.

Love the thread title!

Great thread title!

And water polo!!! You sure got me!

Can you remove me from the race list for the 5K this weekend. I have the flu (not the barfing one, but the feel like you've been run over by a Mack truck one) and I don't think I could run to my mailbox right now.

Happy April!

HBM - Before I opened the thread I warned myself it was April Fool's Day, but I didn't realize it was a joke until the water polo part.

we've got our april showers today, taking down some of this darned snow pack. i know it's not the end - we always get a snow storm or two in April. But boy am i ever ready.

no exercise planned for today, errand running instead.

my big goal is to stay off of mdc until i get home. in preparation for treasure mapping, i am decluttering my to-do list. i have a feeling that my map will be full of things i want to do, not necessarily material things. therefore i need to make sure i have the capacity for these things to happen.

signing off and not coming back all day.

Go you!

This treasure mapping time has really helped me a lot to knock things off of my to do list. I don't know if it was coincidence, but my DH has really been motivated to help me too. We finished our 3rd bedroom, put in a toilet and trim in the 2nd bathroom, organized/decluttered the family room, and today we are taking on the basement. I also have boxes to take to St. Vinnies and some things for my sister to take.

Speaking of spring cleaning, I have 2 books to give away for shipping. PM if you are interested - They are "The Power of a Praying Wife" by Stormie Omartian and "A Woman After God's Own Heart" by Elizabeth George.

ETA Some of you might need this forum. They describe the tinfoil hat thing.. I guess you need kool-aide to do it - http://www.mothering.com/discussions...splay.php?f=16

Paige, I was starting to get that dropping, pit of my stomach feeling I get when online drama starts, and then remembered the date! Before I scrolled down to the April Fool's reveal, I'm proud to say.

No exercise here, but lots of running around with children, and entertaining the electrician as he fixes some circuit issues we are having.

Paige, you TOTALLY got me, right up to the water polo.

How I wish I had space in my brain to come up with an April Fools today. Last night we yanked dd's top front tooth with the same method shown on my blog some posts back. It was a little less fun though, more blood, more screaming, longer recovery of sense of how cool was that? But she does look cute today!

Yeah, that was really messing with my head.

Okay, I really am going to get offline and do something productive. Bathrooms are both scrubbed and medicine cabinet has been organized and old stuff thrown away. Now laundry and soon (duh duh duh) the basement. Have a good one ladies! Be back later!

I'm with Plady re: HBM's joke. Good on ya!

Such long, strange dreams I had last night. Wow.

I think we are through sleep regression around here -- for now, anyway!

There is another family run planned tonight. I'm glad to have the motivation, but to be quite honest I HATE working out with Dan! Hate it. I like my own flow and my own thoughts, and I hate listening to his feet go "FLAP FLAP FLAP FLAP" as his feet slap against the pavement in a pathologically incorrect manner. Especially now that I can't turn off the PT Student brain and want to figure out what's wrong and if it's hurting him... and he wants me to shut up and let him run. Sheesh. The nerve of him, huh?

Anyway. Anyone else find that their otherwise-excellent life partner is the last person you want to work out with?

So.... I'm guessing the random DDDDCs below my name are also April Fool's jokes?

So corn-fused over here! But I think they're funny.

at y'all's dddc's. Did I miss something?? I mean, I literally have only been offline a few hours. Life moves too fast for me.

And, speaking of fast, I attempted a tempo run today. One mile warm-up at 10 min/mile pace then 2.5 miles at 8:57 min/mile pace and a one mile cool down at 9:40. I had to do it on the TM thanks to our April showers but I let myself listen to music so that helped.

I'm subbing, even tho' I once again fell massively behind last month, and need to catch up on everyone's lives.

I had a dingo dream last night - for some strange reason I was in Atlanta, at a race which I wasn't running in, but ran into 3 of you all, who I recognized by the dingo shirts. All 3 of you were running different races - a marathon, a half, and a 5k.

I walked a whopping 35 minutes yesterday which is a new PR, and felt so good that I ran for 10 secs. It didn't hurt then, but I'm hurting more today, so I guess I'll skip the gym. I'm going to bite the bullet and get an MR Arthrogram of my hip, which I've been hoping to avoid, as it involves a painful shot of contrast dye into the joint. I really need to find a doctor who knows what the hell is wrong with me and can fix it. Now.

We were away on vacation last week - Disneyland and San Diego - whoohoo! Kids had a blast, mom and dad were exhausted. Came home to find 2 packages from my secret sprinter. Thanks so much Kate-mom!!! Tons o' goodies - a candy necklace, Cliff bar, dark chocolate, an adorable sheep measuring tape (which I need because the kids run off with my others), Badger balm for my sore muscles when I get to start running again, and best of all, a beautiful Sigg water bottle! Now I just need to get my last package off to my own ss...

So my run this morning with my babysitters daughter went really well. We did about 3 miles at a 9:26mm pace. Her goal is to be able to do a single 7:00 mm. I think she'll be able to do it pretty easily with just a little work. I plan on having her do a tempo run on friday. My goal is to have her do mile warmup, 1 mile at about an 8:30 pace, rest a couple min and do 1/2 mile at about 8:30 pace again and then cool down a 1/2 mile to mile....

Any ideas of april fools I can play on dh?

Gosh the MP ddddcers have been busy today! I'm glad it's April Fools Day I was suddenly feeling sooo uncool because I wasn't hanging with the in crowd!
<------------ ETA Oops, guess I was!

I just had breakfast with my best friend and it was nice but she kept getting all verklempt, especially when she'd hold her namesake here. I don't know why, I think it has to do with feeling the love from all y'all despite never seeing you IRL, but I'm just not getting misty over leaving here, even leaving my good friends. I feel sort of guilty about it. DH and DD1 are getting all dramatic about missing things and people but I'm not. I'm just bummed because I can't find my darn diva cup!!! Don't even ask how I could lose it, I put it somewhere safe. I just hope it wasn't in one of the boxes of things I donated to the library!
