I want to make this soup:

Chicken Soup with Cornmeal Sage Dumplings

I have no experience with dumplings. If I make this tonight, will the dumplings hold up in the refrigerator as leftovers? Also, will this freeze okay with the dumplings? Should I do the soup part now and add the dumplings when I'm going to serve it?

Make the soup now and make the dumplings right before serving.

Dumplings don't even hold well in the fridge - they get soggy... the freezer would be even worse.
