Hi everyone,

The basic drinks in our house are water, 2% cows milk, frozen concentrate juice that we make by mixing with water (apple, orange, berry).

I'm trying to get us to encorporate soy milk and teas instead of all the juice.

Can you help me come up with sweet/fruity tasting teas that I can make iced to put in our fridge instead of juice? Lists of types/brand faves would be great. Thanks!

What about peppermint tea? My kids like it quite well, and it's pretty good cold.

A while back, my husband picked up some strawberry tea by Celestial Seasonings that nobody really cared for hot, but I made iced tea with it that was pretty good. I did add honey to it, though.

I like any fruity herbal tea, such as strawberry or orange (I usually buy the "store" brand) brewed with just a little bit of sugar, over ice.

Really just a touch of sweetness, try a rounded tablespoon of sugar for a gallon, makes it sweet enough for us because of the fruity flavor.

My kids love red zinger.   I sometimes send it for dh in his lunch.  We also like lemon zinger, as well as regular tea mixed half with fruit juice ("fruit tea punch").

We live just around the corner from a tea shop and drink angels falls mist, which we call fruit tea, or the most delicious blood orange rooibos.  you may be able to find them other places.  http://www.nmteaco.com/

rainbow rooibos is also quite good.

Tazo passion tea; Celestial Seasonings Wild Berry Zinger, Red Raspberry Zinger.  Growing up, the girls called the Zinger teas "koolaid", they are sweet with out needing any additional sugar or honey.

Wonderful, delicious ideas! I picked up a Celestial Seasonings (love this company!) fruit tea sampler pack. That has been working nicely, although I did sweeten it a little. Next I will try the Zingers. Thanks, I really appreciate it!

Betsy S, by the way, I love your "fruit tea punch" concept. :)

I'm giving up soft drinks right now. or at least really going to limit myself from having them,so this thread is great for me too. I made a strong cup of red raspberry leaf tea yesterday and then added it a pitcher of water and with a little honey and it was tasty! I'll make another tomorrow. next time I go shopping I may look for some Zingers. I might add a little sparkling water/carbonated water to it though.

I really love Yogi Tea's Sweet Thai Delight: http://www.amazon.com/Yogi-Delight-Herbal-Supplement-16-Count/product-reviews/B000CMH0S6/ref=cm_cr_dp_hist_3?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&filterBy=addThreeStar

It has Stevia in it, so it is quite sweet.

ETA: Another one the kids and I both like is what the kids call "Tiger Tea" - Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice . Very yummy!

I don't know how much your kids would enjoy it, but I love the Good Earth original teas. Really cinnamon-y.

I think it's Yogi's brand, but Egyptian Licorice Tea.  My girls and I love it hot, and though I've never had it cold, I bet it would be good.

I love Tazo teas! My favorite thing to do is create my own blends of teas. I do moms mornings at my house a few times a year and the two favorites:

First - I heat up a pot full of water (not quite boiling) and pour it over three tea bags into my glass tea pot and let it steep for 20 minutes. I serve it hot and everyone loves it. Any leftovers, I pour into recycled glass bottles just over halfway (about 2/3). I top them off with juice and stick 'em in the fridge. I love them!!! If it is a blend my DD likes (age 9), I use a little less tea and add a bit of water. I don't sweeten these at all. The fruit juice does that for me.

Favorite blend = 2 blueberry white (Tazo) + 1 African Red Bush (Tazo)

I add a berry juice of some kind to this.

Summertime hit = 2 green tea (any brand, but plain green tea) + fresh peppermint leaves and lemon verbena leaves from our garden (organic)

I add apple juice to this.
