I want to make a recipe (Enchilada Sauce) and it calls for tomato purée. I've never seen this in stores before. Can I just make it at home some how? Maybe blend up a can of diced tomatoes or use a can of crushed? Anyone have an idea what would work?
Tomato puree is between tomato sauce and tomato paste. You might try cooking down some tomato sauce or adding a little water to tomato paste.
