I am planning on making it for the first time and am wondering about testing for "doneness" - is it like you would for a regular type cake? I can't imagine it is!!
I am using a different size mold (other then the one used with the recipe I have) - I am just unsure on the steaming time- thanks
Nope, didn't make it this year as I hear it can be a bit tricky to get the right consistancy.
I just bought it at a local store, and had it fried with a bit of an egg coating..MMmm!

I made if for the first time yesterday and I steamed it in fish molds and I think no matter how long I would have steamed it the toothpick still would have come out with goo on it???
it steamed for 40 mins and it tastes right - I guess it's done? we ate it
