such as edamame or sunflower seeds taste so good in a green salad and is a fairly new discovery for me.  I was wondering what other dried goodies can I put in.  Thanks so much ahead of time friends!

Yes to all of the above. I like to toast flaked or slivered almonds or pine nuts and sprinkle them into salads. Pecans are also tasty, too.

Flax seeds and hemp seeds.

Raisins

Goji berries

Lately I've been eating tons of spring greens with goat cheese, pine nuts, and dried cranberries.

A great trick to do with your nuts...  Start with your raw nuts and a vinaigrette (not a cream based dressing).  Toast your chopped nuts in a skillet until they're fragrant and browning.  Dump them, still hot, into your vinaigrette, and then dress your salad.  Your vinaigrette will be infused with the flavor of the nuts.  I usually do it with pecans, but any nut will do.

Any nut on a salad is delicious - just match everything else to the flavor of the nut.

I do a tropical salad with shredded toasted coconut and peanuts on top, with chicken and banana.

Or a duck salad with smoked duck, blue cheese, dried cranberries and candied pecans.

Taco salad with corn or tortilla chips.

Asian salad with fried wontons or sesame sticks.

I also remember a cabbage salad from when I was a kid - topped with ramen noodles that had been toasted - they were still dry, but broken into chunks and then pan toasted and tossed on top of a salad, along with I think it was sliced almonds.

Roasted chickpeas are also yummy, wasabi peas, I also like toasted shredded nori, but it doesn't stay dry long.

I usually try to do a nut/seed and a dried fruit on my salads along with tomatoes and cheese and the usual but I LOVE the sweet/salty balance of the nuts and dried fruit.

My husband loves dried fruit in his salads. I don't care for it so much, but I do love seeds and nuts added in. I've never used edamame, I'll have to try that!
